This is by far the best Fold to date. While the 5 was what I referred to as "the first production-ready out-of-beta folding phone that I'd recommend to others without hesitation", the 6 is all of that but turns the volume up to 11 on quality, fit and finish, and design language. The sharp corners and flat sides give it an elegent symmetry when folded, and the thickness is now down to the point where it feels like something like an S24 when folded closed. Proportions are perfect for an average-hand-size yser to comfortably and confidently grip and operate one handed. Unfolded, the hinge confidently snaps into place at a full 180° and makes what looks and feels like an impossibly think small tablet with barely any reminders outside of the very shallow crease that it's a foldable. Inner screen lays flatter and is more solid feeling and glass-like than ever. And the hinge is everything you loved about the excellent Fold5 hinge but with a lovely new matte finish that resists fingerprints and smudges very well. And the new matte black bezel really blends nicely with the frame. Overall while the 1 and 2 were interesting proofs of concept, the 3 blew our minds with the s-pen support, 4 brought great battery life, 5 was a refinement combining the best of the 3 and 4 in a thonner and lighter package, the Fold 6 is a masterpiece and the ultimate iteration of this design to date in nearly every way.
I went from a Fold 4 to this Fold 6 and I am amazed at the differences. The quality is far superior. The weight is drastically less and the slightly wider screen makes a big difference. The clarity and brightness surpasses all of my expectations. I also love the AI features. I used to use 2 different apps to do edits and now I only use the Samsung editor in gallery. I would have given this phone more stars if I had the option!
I've liked all the folds. This one is thinner than all lf them. Anti clear film is great. Still need to explore more. The best part is built in sim card. Dont have to wait or go buy one.
I've owned the Fold 3, 5, and now 6. This phone is my favorite that I've owned, period. I appreciate Samsung's careful iteration in design despite all the internet yelling for Samsung this phone to be as wide as the Pixel Fold. The slimmer cover display is part of the appeal (and making a wider cover display sacrifices the ideal portrait aspect ratio on the interior), and Samsung's version on the 6 is perfect. Cleaned up bezels, slightly wider, and less hinge protrusion. And the inner display--of man. Yes, sure, it still has a slight crease--but it's significantly less visible than on the 5, and when viewing content is disappears more than ever before (on the fold 5, even when you didn't get any glare or off-axis colors from the crease, you could still notice a very slight distortion in the picture. No more! It's nearly perfect). The flat sides really help this feel like a single device when folded, and also just look beautiful. Samsung is making all the right moves, and patiently refining their already excellent product. Ever product has tradeoffs it has to make, and for me, the Fold series makes all the right ones. I don't need wild innovation--I just want them to keep making a good thing even better in small ways. I'll 100% pleased with this new version, and will almost certainly buy the next one as well. :) Keep up the good work, Samsung.
The phone is fine. In my opinion not a lot of change from last year's model. Thinner, maybe lighter, looks and feels the same for generations. I will wait and see if the center crease on the inner screen protector starts coming up. Disappointed doesnt come with case or any bells and whistles, AI is minimum at this time. Newer CPU is faster, battery is good. Gaming is great! Pics... meh.
