The magic starts with the Perfect Blacks and Infinite Contrast, where every self-lit pixel delivers deep, inky shadows right next to intensely bright, vibrant colors, making movies and shows practically leap off the screen. Plus, the AI upscaling makes a noticeable difference, ensuring everything from old reruns to 4K blockbusters looks fantastic. While you'll probably want a separate sound system to match its visual grandeur (and ignore the minor webOS ads), the C5 delivers a truly jaw-dropping, cinema-level experience that’s tough to beat.

i was very wrong, this tv is incredible. so much brighter, with the same rich blacks, the contrast is stunning
the colors pop, and in dark time viewing, it's just magic
you wont regret getting an lg oled

Lg C5 is a big jump in quality from previous gens

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just bought the 77" LG c5 and am extremely happy. I have previously owned various sizes of the c7, c8, c9, cx, c2, and c4 and the jump up this year is big. It gets noticeably brighter than the previous generations and the upgraded processor is also faster. The picture is much brighter so that I can have my lights on or my windows open with much less issue. I hooked up my gaming laptop to the tv and can confirm that it can handle gsync/144hz/HDR pass through/etc.
I prefer the new menu system vs. the previous gens but they have moved quite a bit of options around and the application of the tech is different. Previously, it was recommended to turn off a lot of the picture enhancements because it did weird motion stuff with the pictures but with the new cinematic modes and picture settings, the enhancements are nice to have on without it messing up the picture.
One really nice thing about the new tv is that the vesa mount is now higher on the TV. If you have previous lg oleds, the vesa mounting was always really low on the tv and it made it awkward to wall mount because it needed to sit much lower to line up.
I also like the updated magic remote and that it can control all my devices much better than before vs just relying on CEC.
My only qualm with the TV is the audio pass through. I have a very high end sound system and I cannot pass through truehd/master audio correctly. It's always an issue with every tv/brand, surprisingly, my old c9 was the only tv that passed audio through correctly.
I did briefly use the TV speakers and there is a setting to improve the audio with it wall mounted or if it's on a stand. I hardly ever use my TV speakers since I have it hooked up to a full sound system but I do sometimes use it when I'm making changes. The TV speakers are decent if you're in a pinch but I would recommend still getting something to improve the audio.
I'm very happy and recommend this product strongly.
