Best Framing Saw HANDS DOWN!!

So I frame custom homes and over the last 5 years or so I've used almost every saw youd come across on the jobsite. Im an old school skilsaw guy cause I love the power but their cordless options suck and nobody likes dragging a cord around anymore.
Since I purchased this saw, ive been in love since! It had more than enough power to cut anything in its path and when cutting beams, this thing pulls itself thru I dont have to force it thru the cut like I do on other saws. Its pretty light and very durable and if you want the best performance I would get a couple 9ah batteries and your good all day. They're perfect size and weight and charge pretty fast with the DCB118 Fast charger! I honestly couldn't have made a better purchase and my only regret is not buying it alot sooner. Thanks DeWalt you all are truly amazing and will always have my business from this first purchase of mine on.

Best Cordless Wormdrive
on February 22, 2023

This is the best cordless wormdrive. Everything dewalt comes out with is great. This saw has all the power you want in a cordless saw, cuts through 6x6 and 4x4 with ease. Has a nice straight push from the back which is different from past cordless saws made. It has a lot of control with it when it comes to ripping all of your boards down. If you decide that maybe it is to big for you I would highly recommend their 4” skill saw.

Didn't hold up

I was excited to finally pick up a cordless worm drive saw. This one worked great at first and it was great not having to move the cord around. After I was done with that job it was in my garage for two years. Grabbed it for another job and it was dead. Hard to believe that it didn't hold up. Save your money and buy something else!

It is a great skillsaw, lots of power and is better than corded skillsaws. Only downfall is that it's heavier than most battery power skillsaw.

Saw has lots of power. Just wish they made an accessory to cover the hole where the saw dust goes all over you

Overall great tool

I bought this tool as I found myself quite often not near a power outlet for my regular saw. This worm drive seems to have more power than my corded unit and handles very easily, albeit a little on the heavy side.
The only draw back to the kit was the small bag. I am not sure why marketing decided to put a large tool with battery and charger in a small bag. With spare blades, I could not find a way to put everything in the bag and zip it closed. I ended up swapping bags with my Dewalt crown nailer.

The only professional choice

I will start by saying I am a full time commercial plumber located in Wisconsin. In the time that I have owned this saw it has endured hot, cold, dusty, dirty, and muddy conditions without a single problem. If you're anything like my old school uncle who has been in the trades his entire life, you probably think any circle saw without a power cord is totally worthless, powerless, heavy, and doesn't last very long. Well he's right, this saw is a bit heavy. He is wrong however about every other reason he wouldn't buy this saw. That is until he tried mine and bought one the same night. This saw cuts just as hard, if not harder, than any other skill saw on the jobsite, corded or not. This saw paired with the 9.0 can last me all day as a plumber cutting supports for my pipes, and notching studs to pass my pipes though. I also have used this for side work doing general carpentry and remodeling and I can tell you that with 2 batteries you can cut pretty much uninterrupted. I never experience any power loss when cutting anything which is more than I can say for my last corded skill saw that was recently sold because I no longer have a use for it. My favorite feature on the saw is the blade left positioning. I used to have a blade right saw and this thing makes a huge difference in cut visibility and accuracy its amazing. In my opinion, this saws only downfall (if you can even call it that) is the weight of the entire thing with the battery attached. This thing is a little heavy and you can tell. I usually don't bring it out of the job box until its needed (which ends up being everyday) but luckily this thing has an amazing joist hanger hook on it so I hang it just about anywhere I can while not in use. So, if you're ready to cut that annoying cord on your jobsite but you want to maintain the power and reliability that you expect from a skill saw, this Dewalt Flexvolt worm drive style saw is the only choice.
