Heavy and durable

Probably 30-40% more power than their first Flexvolt saw and you feel it. This version is worm drive style with a rafter hook, blade brake, safety start, metal blade guard and the blade on the left hand side. I still have an extension cord and skill saw on the truck but know I don’t need them anymore. This kit came with a fast charger and one 9 amp hour battery.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I was a young dude I started buildings decks with an Older gentleman that had been a carpenter his whole life. I used a skillsaw worm drive for the two years I worked with him. After when I started doing work on my own I bought the first model Dewalt Circular saw. Just thought it was the norm to hunch over to follow my line. Now Im an older guy I was thrilled to see a true worm drive style saw come out.
The saw has amazing power. We cut and ripped treated wood all day on a flexivolt battery and only used one bar. The rafter hook is perfect, and the height adjustment is great. This a all around professional saw and well worth the money.

Awesome Saw

I'm a professional framer for starters, I've been framing houses for 20 years now. I was very interested when I first heard about this saw, so whenit came out I bought one. This saw had plenty of power, It has more power than my corded side winder saws. I love the fact that it spits all wood shavings out the side discharge for a clear cutting line. Fantastic. I like that fast adjust for cutting 22.5 deg and 45 deg miters. I also like the fast adjust for blade depth. This saw had so much power I'm in awe of it. Two things that I do not like, first is the safety, the push button needs to be a 1/8th" longer out each side to easily pouch it in with the side of your finger when engaging the trigger, I've learned to manage, but I'd change it if I could. Second is the guard lever, is far too short to grab easily, but again I'm managing. I still give this saw 5 stars and would recommend it. I've cut 3 days on a 9 ah battery, very impressive.

Love this saw

Purchased this saw months ago. Wanted to really use it in all aspects of framing , renovating before reviewing it. Overall I am really impressed with both the power and accuracy. Battery life is good and I generally run this with a 6 amp flexvolt. Depending on the job 1 battery will last most of the day before It is depleted. Have been waiting a while for a worm drive style battery saw and would recomend this product to anyone else.

The only professional choice

I will start by saying I am a full time commercial plumber located in Wisconsin. In the time that I have owned this saw it has endured hot, cold, dusty, dirty, and muddy conditions without a single problem. If you're anything like my old school uncle who has been in the trades his entire life, you probably think any circle saw without a power cord is totally worthless, powerless, heavy, and doesn't last very long. Well he's right, this saw is a bit heavy. He is wrong however about every other reason he wouldn't buy this saw. That is until he tried mine and bought one the same night. This saw cuts just as hard, if not harder, than any other skill saw on the jobsite, corded or not. This saw paired with the 9.0 can last me all day as a plumber cutting supports for my pipes, and notching studs to pass my pipes though. I also have used this for side work doing general carpentry and remodeling and I can tell you that with 2 batteries you can cut pretty much uninterrupted. I never experience any power loss when cutting anything which is more than I can say for my last corded skill saw that was recently sold because I no longer have a use for it. My favorite feature on the saw is the blade left positioning. I used to have a blade right saw and this thing makes a huge difference in cut visibility and accuracy its amazing. In my opinion, this saws only downfall (if you can even call it that) is the weight of the entire thing with the battery attached. This thing is a little heavy and you can tell. I usually don't bring it out of the job box until its needed (which ends up being everyday) but luckily this thing has an amazing joist hanger hook on it so I hang it just about anywhere I can while not in use. So, if you're ready to cut that annoying cord on your jobsite but you want to maintain the power and reliability that you expect from a skill saw, this Dewalt Flexvolt worm drive style saw is the only choice.

Extremely powerful

I got this for a truss job We're doing as it seemed to be easier than running cords through all the trusses for power, This thing has more power and cuts far easier than my corded circular saw. The only drawback to it has to be the weight. The fact the blade is on the opposite side of what I am used to also adds a bit of a learning curve to it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Absolutely a beast of a saw. From treated material to hard yellow pine, it has yet to slow down. I can consistently stay cutting almost all day on just the one battery. I did buy a few extras to go along with it so I won’t have any down time. But this saw is honestly remarkable. It is a noticeably heavy saw when you first pick it up, but when using it, it is so well balanced that you don’t feel it. The rafter hook is awesome. I use to use my tape measure to measure depth of cut, but this has a sweet adjustment guide that works out great for that. I have been moving more to cordless everyday and this saw has completely replaced my precious corded circular saw. Great job again DEWALT.

Best saw... PERIOD!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this saw roughly about a 6 months and man was i impressed with is, i had no doubt it was gonna perform well, but not to point where i dont need ny corded saw anymore, power is always there, to this very day i havent encountered something it wont cut, just keep a nice sharp blade and your good to go, battery life is exceptional, last all day if not more
