Great except curls don’t hold

The blow dryer is great and the smoother however, the curls do not hold what so ever.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear you have experienced issues with the Airwrap holding curls in your hair. The Airwrap™ can deliver a variety of styles from voluminous curls, waves to a smooth finish. However, the end result varies and depends on a combination of factors – hair type, hair length, settings you use the product at or how wet the hair is before styling. If you're experiencing curls dropping out, a few tips to help improve would be ensuring the hair is damp before styling, that the barrels are held in place until the hair is dry, and to use the cold shot to set the curls.
If you begin your hair wet, and use the pre-styling dryer prior to curling, you may wish to not dry your hair as much, and then when using the barrels to curl, ensure the hair is completely dry before releasing. If you start with dry hair and use a spray bottle to dampen hair, you may not be getting the hair wet enough prior to using the barrels. You can also experiment with a styling/setting spray once complete to help hold the curls.

This product is a disaster

Save your money. No. Seriously. I got it because I’m tired of my hair looking messy, but don’t want to damage it with extreme heat. The result: my hair is so dry it’s practically straw after one use. The kinks that my hair naturally has ( a slight bend outward instead of inward) is still there. And the mess, has gone from: not quite sleek, to not sleek and looks damaged. Not to mention feels damaged. I didn’t trust the bad reviews because there were so few of them, but seriously, I really should have. What a mess. Scarecrows have better hair than I do now. I could have gotten 12 blowouts for the same price.

Dyson Airwrap™ uses no extreme heat, and it styles and dries your hair simultaneously. It was also engineered for multiple hair types and comes with a range of styling attachments. While everyone is different, we certainly wouldn't expect hair to feel like straw after using Dyson Airwrap™. There are a few different things you can do to change the method in which you dry and style your hair. To begin with, the unit is designed with intelligent heat control, which measures air temperature over 40 times per second to prevent extreme heat while using this appliance. when taking your hair from wet to damp using the dryer attachment, if you hold the dryer away from your head, the dryer will measure the temperature of the room and not your hair; this also causes your hair to blow all around which can lead to damage and tangles. In light of this, when using the dryer attachment it may be necessary to use that directly against your hair using either your hand or a paddle brush to control the movement of your hair.

Not good for natural curly hair

I have natural curly hair. The curl is not too tight but the hair dryer attachments don’t allow for a strong hold on the hair to really straighten the hair.

Almost magical

I Have used this enough to feel like the review may be a written now. there is a learning curve as you read and hear in almost every review. I never learned a curling wand and can’t do a brush and blow dryer at same time.... hopefully your getting the picture on my struggles. I do have fine hair. Lots of it. First attempt was 2 hours. Flash forward few videos and I’m already down to 45 min. I have long hair. Recommending the long barrels as they are on my wish list now. My hair needs to be more on the 70% wet to catch and really get the curl to hold. So I barely dry my hair with the dryer attachment. Small pieces as everyone says. This gets way hotter than I thought so If your needing heat this offers that. I don’t use the hottest setting at all but appreciate the options. I have learned the round brush blowout technique and was so excited. perfect bouncy straight hair! I am amazed at how now I am learning the wetness my hair needed that the dry time on barrel takes longer however once dried and cold shot it holds and feels soft. No crunchy gross hairspray with burnt hair anymore. With all the tools I have spent money on this is really everything in one. And the short barrels do work. Just imagining time saver with long ones with less hair wrapped over each other. I get complements everywhere even through Covid on how nice my hair looks. If you want tight curls this will offer that. If you want lovely soft bouncy curls or a blowout look better than the hair dresser this is the product for you. You still want hair product and a soft hold spray for lasting few days if your like me doing the gym and sauna this is worth it so you don’t burn your hair. I love curls one day, bouncy next and volume straight. If you value healthy long hair but want to step it up working on zoom meetings all day in an office or out this is it. I tossed my curling and straight hot tools to the side. I’m forever sold on this Dyson air wrap. Who wants cookie cutter damaged curls anyway? My hair thanks me for getting this every time. Money sooo worth it. Thank you for making this. And the Money is the most I would have agreed to saving up for but with feeling like all in one I must say I love it. I would do it again. And confused on why anyone would love this. Hope the review helps some. FYI my hair would say it is magic and even magic has to be taught.

Very Nice!

I bought this about 3 weeks ago and it is so nice to have my long thick hair dry and styled in 30 minutes. It used to take me 30 minutes to dry my hair and then another 30 minutes to an hour to curl my hair completely with a curling iron. Definitely worth the money to save me so much time on getting ready. Also my curls last so much longer using the dyson.

I have thick naturally curly hair and I LOVE the Dyson complete styler. I struggled with the price, but it’s worth it for the result that I get from the Dyson!!

Time saver!

I’ve been using this Dyson complete set for about two weeks now and I’m so far satisfied with the products. The best part of it was how it could save so much time in styling my hair. For other products, I would have to completely dry my hair to avoid any severe damage. But with Dyson, you can dry & style your hair at the same time so that’s the biggest advantage of this full set. However, I have a medium length hair right now (the longest hair touches my shoulder) and it’s not easy to give a really nice and natural looking waves. I’ve been watching multiple youtube videos and tried myself every time my hair was wet for the past two weeks, but it was still hard to give a real nice waves to my current medium length hair. I feel like if i had even shorter or just long enough hair, it would’ve made it easier for me to style it more naturally. So I’m just gonna use the dryer only for now and wait until I finally get my long hair back to use the curling devices.
I would recommend this to a friend!
