Not as good as we hoped

Disappointed in this purchase. Hair does not wrap around the curler as easy and the smoothers are fine, but still leaves my hair frizzy so I need to straighten afterwards. Hoping this would lesson the need for other tools, but it has not so I’ve essentially purchased a really expensive hair dryer I wish I could return.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Judi, this is Kelly with Dyson. We were sorry to read your review of the Dyson Airwrap Styler, and to hear how disappointed you have been with this product, thus far in your use. We wouldn't expect to hear that the Airwrap is leaving your hair frizzy. The technology behind Dyson Airwrap is quite revolutionary and it is not like anything you might be used to. It can take some time to get used to the different settings, features and attachments that the Airwrap provides during your drying and styling session, not to mention your normal way or habit of drying your hair with traditional hair dryers. It's also unusual to hear that your hair isn't wrapping around the barrels while using those to obtain curls. If your hair is shorter you may find that the barrels are too wide to allow the hair to completely wrap around them, to obtain the desired style. I absolutely love this!! My hair feels wonderful after drying not brittle or damaged. I actually have thrown out all of my old styling tools. Highly recommend purchasing the Dyson Air Wrap!!

The Dyson Airwrap Styler was designed for those who want the versatility of a styler to create curls and waves, or a smooth finish. Dyson Airwrap wraps entirely through the use of airflow and the naturally occurring phenomenon of the Coanda effect. Air, when propelled at the right speed and pressure, naturally follows an adjacent surface, entraining surrounding air. The Dyson Airwrap styler creates a spinning vortex of air around the barrel that attracts, wraps and curls hair. The combination of damp hair, airflow and not applying extreme heat to hair during the drying process helps to lock in your style, whether you're looking for a straight finish, waves or curls. If you do have shorter hair, you may find that there isn't enough length for the barrels to grasp, in order to style as desired.

I am so thrilled with my Dysin air wrap system. I love how my hair feels after using. It’s a little but to get acquainted with but once you figure it out it’s awesome!! I love how my curls turn out each time. This is an awesome hair investment!!

After about a week and having tried different routines am so impressed and am happy that I invested in ease of styling - for the first time I look like I just left my stylist everyday. Fastest from toweled to done so far has been only 7 minutes on my just above shoulder length hair with the pre-dry attachment then finishing with the round brush. Had worried that the round brush would catch and pull out hair but it does not - very few hairs left in after use - less than would expect to 'shed' normally on a daily basis. Believe me it is truly an investment - never thought I would spend so much on a home hair system but am justifying with the fact that I let my hair go silver/gray a few years ago so have not been spending on color! And love that the high quality case keeps everything organized and close at hand with no cords to catch/trip in so the bathroom looks so much neater. Only concern so far is that have not found the right product to achieve 'beachy' waves or curls - my hair is happy with curving under and being smooth with the good haircut i have.
