Not enough tension for curly hair

I am very good at doing a salon worthy blowout using a high quality hair dryer and excellent round brushes - unfortunately the dyson airwrap doesn't hold a candle to this method. There's simply not adequate tools to create the tension needed to straighten curly hair from the root. The round brush included is fairly small and didn't have long smooth bristles to get good tension on a good amount of hair. The regular brushes on the dyson provide zero tension needed to straighten curly hair - you have to go over your hair a million times and the hair looks and feels like straw afterwards. I actually achieving a good blowout on the dyson would take me an hour of drying and styling small sections of hair while switching between multiple attachments 8,000 times vs 12 minutes with my trusty hair dryer and quality round brush. This tool is not all is cracked up to be.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love the dryer. The styling tools dont style my hair as smooth as i was hoping. I have corse and thick hair with natural waves and curls. I tried all the attachments but as much as i love it , my hairs texture is just not right for this great set. I wanted to dry and flat/smooth out my hair without using my flat iron like i have for years. But it turned out i still had to use it to smooth out the frizz. Maybe i didnt use it right, but i tried 3 times. Still, i am glad i have one

Machine is the best one out there of it's kind

This is the best styler I've ever owned. It makes drying and styling so easy, without leaving my hair feeling burnt or damaged. I only left a 4 start review, because after a year or so, the styler always ends up having issues. But so far, dyson has taken care of it. This last time, it did take 2 months to get a replacement unit.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have been wanting this blow dryer for years. Finally got one. I love it. It is not as easy to use as they say. It has a huge learning curve . The curls do not last as long as a curling iron. But it’s ok for me bc I know how to use it with my hair experience. So I love it. Would I recommend it to just anyone no. Worth the money for me but not to the average Joe. The only downfall is I used the bush feature and my bristles melted. You would think they would have that figured out by now.

Surprisingly the best ever

I’ve never been one to be able to sit and style my hair. My hair the use to be somewhat thick and slightly wavy and a little past my shoulders on the length Throughout the years I’ve either had perms or fuss free cuts. Now in my 60’s my hair is thinning out and lots of grey that I refuse to dye. It’s getting to be less and less flattering and unmanageable. So around three weeks ago I was in a department store during one of their anniversary sales. This air wrap and another brand were two I was considering. Fortunately, I was helped by a couple of store reps that weren’t pushy but very helpful. They were even guiding me more towards the less expensive brand that was a less than a third of the cost of the Dyson. Here’s why I chose the Dyson: easier to use, lighter weight, more styling options and better performance
Easier to use because you can manage the heat, air flow, cool shot or setting shot and power with just one finger. The other brand was bulky and you had to stop between each section of hair, turn it off, re-position then turn it back on. More styling options because of the several attachments included you can do a blow out or curl and style. The other brand was more of an air brush and I would have had to buy a second product for a curling iron which would have been another two hundred dollars. It is my opinion the dyson performed better because the brush option gave more volume to my hair than the other brand, there was an obvious difference. They Dyson is quieter and cools down faster making it easy to change attachments quickly. The only con for me was the price but I’m still giving the five stars because I’ve used this air wrap every day since I’ve brought it home and I’m loving my hair again! I only wish this product was available 30 years ago.

Needs a nozzle attachment

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thoroughly enjoy my air wrap however, I wish as a stylist , I wish I could use it behind my chair for more than just finishing. To use it just for drying is very time consuming, and I am unable to use my favorite tools behind the chair. I feel like I need to rock back-and-forth between two tools, one being air wrap, one being a regular blow dryer. Please consider adding in a nozzle attachment so we can use it as a blow dryer and not feel the need for two tools. Otherwise, I really like it.

BROKE FIRST DAY OF USE

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used one attachment to test it out and was obsessed then I tried the rest and it started blinking red and wouldn’t turn on. EXTREMELY FURIOUS and disappointed considering the cost.
