I have the model for fine hair. I've not yet tried the curling barrels. My favorite attachment thus far is the round volumizing brush. It gives my fine limp hair the perfect amount of body and curl for the above shoulder length style I'm currently wearing. I've never been skilled with a curling iron and other round brushes I've attempted to use have become hopelessly snarled in my hair but the dyson hair styler is as easy to use and tangle-free as the videos make it seem. I really love this product but it's a little bulky to travel with, could you downsize a version for travel?

What a wonderful addition to hair care products! Using the Dyson Airwrap is like a magic! The way my hair magically wraps around the curling tool and never gets tangled. The curls it creates are stunning!

I got this product for a week and it’s a fun hair tool to have but it takes lots of practice to get the result. The airwrap package comes with a dryer, two rollers, a brush and a round volumizing brush. I have very straight hair and always want curls without the harsh chemical on my hair. This is a prefect tool to accomplish my want. It is easy to use once you are accustomed to its function. If you have thin hair, the airwrap sucks in the hair automatically but since I have thick hair, it takes time to complete the styling. The curls did not last for the entire day for me as my hair is very straight and thick. The brush and the round brush are great for giving your hair body and volumization. The holding case is very luxurious and holds all tools in one place.

I bought all Dyson hair tools. I have Fine hair.
Tried them all, and ended up leaving 2 main tools for me: Airwrap and Corrale, the straightener. Airwrap substituted Supersonic. And corrale just bought me from the first try. I love all hair styles from Dyson Airwrap! So many attachments! I bought Airwrap because i wanted to try curls - on my hair it works just perfect. Now I just cut my hair short and still I can create some waivy look. Needless to say that it doesn’t consume so much time as if you would spend with regular fan then iron or curler.
Definitely expensive investment. But think about your time (in my case less) and the quality of your hair (no overdry or frizz).

So disappointed

So disappointed. I have fine, straight hair, but a lot of it. It is hard to curl and I wanted to style it with less heat. No matter what I do (I have watched ALL the You Tube videos) the curls don’t last 10 minutes. Seriously 10 minutes. The other attachments work well, but I wanted curls. I will be returning it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Airwrap Styler was designed for those who want the versatility of a styler to create curls and waves, or a smooth finish. Dyson Airwrap wraps entirely through the use of airflow and the naturally occurring phenomenon of the Coanda effect. Air, when propelled at the right speed and pressure, naturally follows an adjacent surface, entraining surrounding air. The Dyson Airwrap styler creates a spinning vortex of air around the barrel that attracts, wraps and curls hair. The combination of damp hair, airflow and not applying extreme heat to hair during the drying process helps to lock in your style, whether you're looking for a straight finish, waves or curls.
If you begin your hair wet, and use the pre-styling dryer prior to curling, you may wish to not dry your hair as much, and then when using the barrels to curl, ensure the hair is completely dry before releasing. If you start with dry hair and use a spray bottle to dampen hair, you may not be getting the hair wet enough prior to using the barrels. You can also experiment with a styling/setting spray once complete to help hold the curls.

I wanted to LOVE this, but...

I've had my Airwrap for almost a month, and I am very sad to say it's not working the way I had hoped it would. I have naturally curly hair - not super tight curls, but past wavy. After completing the questionnaire (hair type, thickness, etc), the suggestion was the Volume package. When I use the straight brush, rather than a smooth and silky finish, I end up with wiry, stringy hair. There is more volume to it, so when I pull it back into a ponytail, it looks better, but that's not my hope. The curling feature is cool and my hair holds the curls well. But when I allow my hair to air dry, I get the same effect. I'm still experimenting with products, hoping to find the right combination. But if I'm not successful, it's going to have to go back...still trying to make it work!!

The Volume + Shape model was engineered to add volume and shape to fine, flat hair. Your soft smoothing brush should help to create a smooth, blow-dry finish, and the round volumizing brush is designed to give body and shape to limp, flat hair. We're glad to hear that you've found curl retention to be good when using the curling barrels. If you're finding that your hair feels or looks wiry, or stringy, you may wish to try styling your hair with no product added prior to styling, and then sealing in the style with the cold shot, and an after-styling spray. SO easy to use!

I have a disability that means I only have effective use of one hand. I have spent several years trying to find other ways to do my hair. None have been this easy. The only thing I would change would be to add additional curling barrel sizes.

My fine hair has never had so much volume! People noticed on zoom calls and in person. Is fast. Love that you have damp hair and it styles so quickly versus dry and use metal and heat. It’s an investment, but I can throw away all my other tools that were more damaging. I spend a lot on cut and color, think of as an investment in my mane. Same with this product. 2 year warranty, super easy and automatic through website. I’m very happy with the product and the results.
