Caseta Fan Speed Control Switch

This Caseta Fan Speed Control Switch works awesome with the Lutron App and with Google Assistant. It was fairly easy to install and it was easy to configure the bridge, both fan switches, Dimmer and Pica remote. The wires on the devices are not tagged so you have to refer to the manual to decipher what wire colour is for what. I bought these devices on sale over the Christmas holidays at a decent price as they are a bit on the expensive side. The down side is you need a bridge to use the wireless control functional via App, google home or alexa. I have the lutron bridge connected by ethernet cable to an 8 port switch in my office that connects back to the router in the basement through coaxial cable through a MoCA 2 Adapter. I'ts been two weeks since I’ve installed them and they have been working flawlessly. My Fan has a double gang switch box and was prewired with one slot for the fan light dimmer and one slot for the Fan speed control Switch. This setup is the best case scenario as you can control your fan lights and the fan itself seperatly. I ran into a problem with the dimmer switch not working and turning on the lights after it was first installed. The Hunter fan had a watt regulator/limiter on the light circuit (US regulations) that would not allow the lutron dimmer to work. Given I'm using 4 x 6 watt LED bulbs (and LED bulbs are all they are selling now) I decided to remove the watts Regulator in the fan head to allow the circuit to work with the lutron dimmer. The Dimmer and Fan Switch has a middle button that you can program to preset level, which is a clever way to get your favorite speed or light level with a one touch button. The dimmer switch don't need a neutral wire in the switch box to connect to but the fan switch does. I updated my Telus WiFi to the Telus Boost mesh system after installing this Lutron gear which changed my SSID on my WiFi. All the other smart devices in my home had to be individually reconfigured with my new WiFi name and password. This Lutron gear did not have to be reconfigured because the hub has a hardwired ethernet connection. That is a bonus of the lutron hub. Compared to my other Smart home switches (Wemo/TPlink Kasa) These Lutron devices are well designed and well worth the money!

I have a few system in my house but Lutron caseta is by far the most reliable. It’s more expensive but quality and reliability are key factors.
