Disappointed in 80v battery performance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a garage full of 60v tools but bought the refurbished 80v 800cfm blower because the price was too good.
This is my first blower, so I don't have a comparison, but I’m only getting about 15min of run time on the 2.5ah battery (reconditioned). Maybe the reconditioned battery has decreased capacity. But I was expecting to see the 69 minutes run time. Granted, that’s for operating at “low” setting. But still, I can only get a fraction of my job done on this battery.

Hello Skidinsko, Thank you for sharing your feedback and for choosing Greenworks! We are glad to hear you are expanding your collection with our 80V blower. Run time can vary depending on factors such as air speed setting, ambient temperature, and the condition of the battery. For reference, the running time of an 80V 800 CFM brushless leaf blower with a 2.5Ah battery on high is up to 15 to 20 minutes, which aligns with what you are experiencing. For longer jobs, we recommend using a higher-capacity 4.0 Ah or 5.0 Ah battery. You can view the 80V battery platform here (https://www.greenworkstools.com/collections/80-volt?uff_knr5hq_productType=Battery). Having a second battery on hand can also help reduce downtime. If you continue to notice shorter run times, please contact our Customer Care team on 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS) or via Live Chat we are happy to assist.

The blower was powerful and worked fine but only for 10 minutes. Luckily I had 3 other batteries but I was really disappointed with the run time. I was going to buy a snow blower but I’m scared of the having a similar ptoblem

Hello Steve boy. We are glad to hear you were impressed with the power of your blower, though we are sorry the runtime did not meet your expectations. Battery runtime will depend on the load that is put on the unit (i.e., Turbo Mode). You can typically expect about 30–40 minutes of runtime under normal use, and between 10–15 minutes when Turbo Mode is engaged. Battery performance can also vary depending on temperature and the type of debris being cleared. For longer runtime, we recommend using lower speed settings for lighter tasks or pairing the tool with higher-capacity batteries such as our 4Ah or 5Ah options. Please do not let this experience discourage you from trying our snow blowers, they are designed with optimized power management for cold-weather performance. Our team would be happy to help you find the best setting up for your needs through Live Chat on our website or by calling 1-888-909-6757.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Blower works well but battery lasts about 10 minutes. The suggestion to run the blower at low throttle is nonsensical if you want to clear the leaves cleanly. Raking by hand is faster than half throttle.
Pros: Easy to Use

Hello GioPlander. We are glad to hear your 80V blower is working well, but we understand your frustration with the battery runtime. Leaf density and thickness can impact performance, and while lower throttle can extend battery life, we know it may not always be practical for heavier jobs. For longer use, we recommend keeping a spare 80V battery on hand or alternating with higher-capacity batteries to maintain cleaning efficiency. Here is a link to our 80V battery platform (https://www.greenworkstools.com/collections/batteries?uff_qzw0l9_metafield%3Aattribute.voltage=80V). We hope this information helpful. Greenworks Product experts are available to answer any questions and concerns you may have, and we will work with you to ensure that you pick the right accessories for your tool! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am happy with the purchase of the 800 CFM leaf blower, but I was disappointed that it doesn't push air any more than my 700 CFM blower. None the less, it works well and get the job done.
Pros: Cost-Saver, Easy to Use, Durable
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 80v 800 CFM renewed leaf blower runs amazingly well! I'm really happy with the purchase. I am able to get done in 15 minutes what took hours with my corded leaf blower before and I don't have to trip or get tangled up by the cord! Great buy!
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Powerful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Battery cuts off frequently when the charge is low.
Pros: Convenient, Easy to Use, Powerful
Response from greenworkstools.comBy Greenworks, November 11, 2025
Hello NJosephs. Thank you for sharing your experience. We know how frustrating it can be when your blower cuts out before the job’s done. This happens because the battery’s built-in protection (BMS) kicks in when the charge gets low to prevent over-discharge and protect the battery. To help avoid this, try charging the battery fully before heavy use or swapping in a fresh battery if you have a second one. Since the blower draws a lot of power, this can still happen near the end of a charge. If you need any further assistance, our Greenworks team is happy to help you can reach us via online chat on our website or by calling 1-888-909-6757.
