[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The battery charge lasts to mow my 1/2 acre yard with charge left over. The mower cuts cleanly. No gas. No oil. No difficulty starting. I’m well pleased with this purchase.

Exceeded expectations!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this Greenworks mower 3 days ago. I am pleasantly surprised at how quickly and easily I was able to put it together. I have 1/2 acre to mow with combination flat terrain, slopes, and a hill. It was the first mow of the season and the mower plowed through tall grass (and weeds) with no issues. I used a combination of turtle and rabbit speeds and occasionally the turbo boost. I was especially appreciative that the mower self propels given the slopes and hill. I moved 1/4 acre one day and the remaining 1/4 acre the next day. The batteries made it through both days without needing recharging. (I recharged it in the evening of first day used.) Features that I didn't expect but found amazing: the ease of using batteries, the ease of starting the mower, the ability to mow high grass, the ease of changing the height of cut using just one hand, and the folding storage position. I did read all instructions thoroughly, plus several reviews, and watched a couple of You tube videos. I especially made note of warnings to pull red key and batteries before doing anything involving blade. I did this before cleaning bottom of mower off before storing it in garage. Plus I noted never use it in wet grass.
I am a 71 y/o female in good physical shape but with very limited mechanical abilities. I put the mower together and mowed 1/2 acre of challenging terrain with high grass, slopes, and a hill. I am very pleased with this mower and it definitely exceeded my expectations.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] An excellent cut and the battery last to do the entire yard with ease. The self propelled mower is fast, I like the turtle speed, the turbo option works well with very high grass. I'm very happy today, my other 80 volt batteries also work.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Batteries don’t last a third of what they say. Can’t mow 8000 square feet with 3 batteries

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re sorry to hear the run time hasn’t met your needs. Several factors can affect battery life—dense or tall grass, hilly terrain, or grass over 4 inches all require more power and can shorten run time.

For best results, we recommend raising the cutting height and trimming no more than one-third of the grass length at a time, then waiting a couple of days before cutting again. Mowing when the grass is dry and walking at a steady pace will also help the blade work more efficiently. As your lawn becomes regularly maintained, you should see both cut quality and run time improve.

For an 8,000 sq. ft. lawn, you might also consider one of our Greenworks ride-on mowers, designed for larger areas and heavier cutting needs. We offer a range of options to suit different lawn sizes and conditions, and our team is happy to help you find the right fit. You can reach us via Live Chat on our website (www.greenworkstools.com) or by phone at 1-888-909-6757.
For a home with a lawn size of 8000 sq ft, you may want to consider one of our Greenworks ride-on mowers. These units are designed for lawns that require more heavy-duty cutting needs. We have a variety of options for a range of household lawn care needs. We hope the above information has been helpful. If you would like more detail on what units may be best suited for your needs, please contact us through Live chat direct on our site or by phone at 1-888-909-6757. We are here to help.

Don't Waste Your Money
on September 27, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second review of this mower. I have been cutting grass for 55+ years, and I have never disliked a mower as much as I am disliking this mower - I wish I had gotten my grass-powered mower repaired, instead of buying this mower. This mower gives a poor, uneven cut - thick, heavy grass, or light grass. When you disengage the self-propulsion, it's impossible to pull the mower backwards, until you push it forward a bit, or "bounce" the mower. This mower is extremely difficult to maneuver in tight quarters, or when you have to cut around something in your yard. The battery does not last nearly as long as claimed. All I can say is, don't waste your money.
Response from greenworkstools.comBy GreenworksSeptember 29, 2025
Hello Mark54. We appreciate you taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience with the mower has been frustrating. The issues you have described with cut quality, maneuverability, and battery runtime are not what we want our customers to experience. Runtime can vary and depend on a few factors, including but not limited to using self-propelled, self-propelled mowers do use more batteries than standard push mowers as more power is being demanded from the battery to run the blades and the wheels. Grass texture and consistency. Cutting height and lawn size, when grass is not too thick and well maintained under 4 inches. For added runtime, we recommend purchasing an additional battery, Greenworks 80V batteries are interchangeable with 80V units, the higher the ampere-hour (AH) rating is on the battery, the longer the run time will be in comparison to a lower ampere-hour battery. The self-propelled feature is not usable in reverse. They are designed to lock when pulled back to prevent damage to the drive belt. If you are using the self-propelled feature, the mower will attempt to move forward and will be difficult to move backwards. You would have to release the self-propelled lever to pull the mower backwards while still holding onto the start lever. We hope this information helps you understand our product better and perhaps encourages you to give it a second chance! If you ever have specific questions or concerns about our products, contact Greenworks via Live chat on our website (www.greenworkstools.com), call us at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS) or refer to the FAQ ask section of the tool or ask us a question, anytime.
