This pole saw is straightforward to use, and feels a lot safer than a chainsaw for overhead work. It saves a lot of time and sweat compared to a manual pole saw, and it's convenient if you already have the 80V batteries for other tools.
The 2 Ah battery lasts as long as I do before getting tired from holding it overhead (about 30 minutes).
I worried about buying my chainsaw because I was used to a smaller 40v but I have had no problems using it. I am an older moderately small lady and love it so far! I really like that you can view the oil chamber so I can add as needed!
I've been using this for a few years now and it has held up well. There is a bit of a learning curve. You need to allow the saw to do the work, if you force it the chain can bind or come off. You need at least two batteries and ideally three for continuous operation. Customer support is decent and have helped me with replacement nuts for the cover
Bought this two years ago (Dec 2017). Have used it to cut down and buck a dead 10" dia. Poplar tree, trim some large overhanging Eucalyptus branches and various kinds of large brush and small tree debris. The saw is easy to handle, cuts quickly, seems to stay sharp. The battery lasts 40 to 50 minutes and recharges in about 20 minutes. With two batteries I never have to wait for a battery to recharge. And its much easier to use than a gas saw.
This is a great and clean saw. The only reservation I have is that the battery makes the unit somewhat heavy and throws the balance off. But, that’s the price for no longer depending on a smelly gas chainsaw.
I have a16” 40v saw and it fits nicely. I put three batteries, qt. of bar oil, safety glasses (don’t need ear plugs anymore!) and blood stopper kit with no problem. I like the square design; it’s nice for packing, has more room, and I can sit on it when taking a break
