Ordered the tool only. It arrived loose in the box (no packaging inside the box to secure the chainsaw) as if someone just threw it in a box and shipped it. When you spend that kind of money on a product you expect a lot more care than that. Fortunately the chainsaw wasn’t damaged.

This is actually for the predecessor (but essentially the same device), Model #GCS80420-2000002.
As I said, it's really the same saw.
I've now had this device for almost 5 years. It still behaves exactly the same as when I bought it.
During that time, I've cut literally cords of firewood, about 20 mature alder and maple trees on my office property in Western WA State and several trips to State-owned forest land for permitted firewood and windfall harvesting. I have an offset smoker on the property and my home and office both have fireplaces, which I use in the winter.
The only maintenance activities I've ever had to perform to keep this saw running like the day I bought it, are:
1) Keep the bar, chain and guard areas clean and free of chips (i.e., put it away clean). 2) Keep the oil reservoir full of Bar Oil and store in a dry place when unused. 3) Sharpen the chain after every season.
That's it. It always just works. Reliably and quietly, every time.
I have replaced all of my tools (except one diesel-powered generator, for obvious reasons) with Greenworks electric tools.
And this ain't my first rodeo - between my dad and myself, we've owned 7 chainsaws over a period of 50 years from different manufacturers. Every single one of them died after a few years of use; some had to be repaired at the beginning of every season because [even tho winterized] they refused to start. God, but I have come to HATE 2-cycle gas engines - they are usually cheaply made and just don't last.
Three uses so far, dozens of branches, no problems. Feels safer than my handheld chainsaw as the pole social distances the blade. No gas and oil to mix. Highly recommend.
Better than expected. Excellent power, what I didn’t like is the battery life. Granted it’s just a 2.0 battery, and it’s a chainsaw but why include that small of a battery. Recommend getting a second battery or larger battery. Very easy to use, and almost as good as gas powered.
I think this case is perfect if you need a sturdy safe spot to store your saw. It's great for transport too! I tossed a small amount of paper towel in the bottom to catch the couple drips that normally come out of every saw. There's room for 2 batteries if you load one in the saw and tuck another next to the saw... I also keep a file and the original bar oil bottle in there too.
A few years back I purchased a PRO 80V CORDLESS 18" BRUSHLESS CHAINSAW W/ 2.0 AH BATTERY and charger. I own properties and my only purpose to buy one was to have a convenient chainsaw for odd jobs with me at all times, one that I wouldn't also have to drag along with me gas and ear protection. Wow.... was I shocked when I used this for the first time! I was so surprised that I decided to tackle some of my fire wood for the upcoming year and I ended using it for a good portion of what was needed. I could not believe how many cuts I could get and how much power it delivered. Needless to say, I AM A BIG FAN and because of that reason I today ordered a hedge trimmer. After several years of using it and also after leading others to purchase one, who are also glad that they did, I couldn't be any more pleased with my purchase. -David
