[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] could be 5 stars if my issue gets taken care of. the tool is excellent, there is a delay when you pull the trigger. This threw me at first; I quickly came to appreciate it, as I avoided many premature cuts while pruning. the 2ah battery made it through 2 very ignored apple trees. I was done before the battery was. on a very large section of an ancient figured big leaf maple with a 50/50 of hard as rock and spalted wood. Was very impressed. most of the cuts were made through crotches and other areas of tight dense grain and once again the battery outlasted the job with 2 bars left. I've owned a few saws and this is the first one that has actually oiled the chain well. It holds quite a bit of oil as well Its not as compact as i would like for trying to maneuver in between branches. Time will tell on longevity of the product but so far i havn't seen any warning signs. neither the battery or the tool heated up during use and the chain ran at the correct speed with no perceivable power loss. the charger was used twice when it first arrived i put both batteries on and charged them to 100%. unplugging the unit when done. When i tried to recharge the batteries after using the saw for the first time there was nothing. the charger is dead. I've registered my product and the next step is to call the 1 800 #. If it is possible I will update this review with details of the rest of my experience
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hello jgmess.
Thank you for the detailed review. We are happy you are overall pleased with the chain saw! We are sorry to hear about the experience you have encountered with the charger. Here are a few troubleshooting suggestions to check out. 1) When the battery is inserted, the light should begin flashing green to indicate the battery is charging. If this light is not igniting or is flashing red, this may indicate an issue, and we would be interested in hearing more about this. If the light simply goes solid red, try removing the battery and unplugging the charger for about 10 minutes and place them both indoors in a room temperature setting, as this might indicate the battery is at the incorrect temperature to be charged. 2) Ensure that the battery has been fully inserted into the charger. Sometimes this requires a firm push into place to make sure that it has been properly seated. 3) Try resetting the charger. To do this, simply unplug it for approximately 10 minutes and then plug it back in and try reinserting the battery. If the charger has been plugged in for extended periods of time, this can sometimes cause the charger to malfunction. We have a video that helps explaining how to charge the battery. It is a different model but the charging feature is the same. You can check it out here: (https://youtu.be/g8Xz43deavo?t=131). If you have tried all these suggestions and they do not yield results, please contact us directly some further information would be required to be better assist. Contacting us will allow our team to gather some further details so that we can help find a resolution for you. We can be reached by via Live chat on Greenworks Tools website (www.greenworkstools.com) or call Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] got it for Christmas came with 80 volt 4'0Ah battery and a 80 volt 2,0Ah battery the 4.0 lasts longer than 2.0 vary good saw would recommend it i have the lawn trimer, blower and all are 80 volt
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the light balanced, feel and power is amazing. I have a gas one but tired of always filling up gas/oil. The 80 V gives me plenty of torque and The battery life really is More than needed. I also have the pro 80 V blower which also has a 80v 4AH. Between these two pieces of equipment, I’m a GreenWork fan for life
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ive been using greenworks 80V 4AH tools since 2000. I bought a leaf blower, hedge trimmer and edger. They work great and I'm very happy with them. When it was time for a new Chainsaw, I read up on the specs and compared it to other brands and found the 80V chainsaw I bought was the equivalent of a 50cc gas chainsaw, and with another 80 V 4AH, battery and charger, this was an economical way to get another battery and charger. I recommend the Greenworks product line to every homeowner!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was skeptical at first but quickly proven wrong. I've never been more impressed with a tool right out of the box.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the chain lock feature and steel bucking spikes. Simple, easy to operate. Haven't been able to test battery life yet.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this for storm clean up, powerful saw without all the maintenance of a gas saw. Cut 12-15in diameter trees effectively. 80v battery provides about 1 hr of worth if big cuts and recharges fully in about 45 min. Easy to clean and transparent chain lube level visibility is very helpful.
