This product does the job. I was very happy when I received as a Christmas gift 2013. It is totally different from the hand held mixer from years ago. It is a little heavy for me but ,I will manage. Thank you

Best Mixer Ever!

I'm so happy I bought this mixer! I love the tilt head feature, and the fact you can buy add on attachments. I have purchased the ice cream freezer bowl and attachments. I love it too, enough that I just purchased the food grinder, juicer and sausage stuffer attachment. Can't wait to try it out. Oh and thumbs up on the ice cream recipes! If you want a new twist try the vanilla but only 2 tsp. vanilla then add 2-3 tsp. peppermint flavoring after freezing add crushed peppermint soft candy and crushed hard candy. It's great!

My first standmixer, why did I wait so long?

After a lot of research I settled on the Kitchenaid Artisan series stand mixer. I've been using a hand mixer, or a unit with a base that can hold a stand mixer, blender, food processor, etc. The hand mixer is great for small things and the multipurpose unit is not great for any particular task. The Artisan is heavy duty, frees my hands to do other tasks while it works away. The attachments are easy to install, remove and clean.
The only negative, the mouth on the feed unit is a bit awkward to feed ingredients into the bowl.
Overall, it's a wonderful machine.
