Good and powerful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought to replace similar KitchenAide mixer that was great for over 25 years. Design change gave me a new mixer that won't lock down when mixing thicker material (bread dough). A replacement was sent, but it had the same issue. I kept the first one that I had purchased.
To keep the mixer in the locked position, I attach a rubber band between the locking lever and the slicer/shredder locking bolt. You might consider placing a rubber band inside the packaging for future customers. :-)

Love the Tilt, Don't love the Jerking!

I bought this mixer because I am getting into sourdough making.
I like the convenience of the Tilt-Head but have not been happy that it "jerks/jumps" while mixing dough because it won't fully lock down. The first few times it happened, I thought it was going to jump off my counter top - scared me to death! I researched you-tube videos/reviews and found this is common - did the dime test - adjusted the screw.......this helped some but it still convulses when the dough gets heavy/thick.
This is an expensive mixer - wish it didn't have this issue - but I am stuck with it and while it has it's issue, I am grateful for all the wonderful things it DOES do very well. The 3-in-1 pasta attachment is fabulous and I just invested in a glass bowl......

As I have very arthritic hands and using a hand mixer was becoming painful, I decided to purchase a KitchenAid Artisan 5 quart mixer which includes a fresh prep slicer/shredder. It's a lifesaver and makes cooking/baking a pleasure!

Still learning and challenging myself to new recipes each week to keep it active as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received as Christmas present. Still learning how to use. I noticed it's hard to add ingredients as you go. You have to stop the mixer and lift the head anytime you want to add ingredients to avoid making a mess.
