[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I won this KitchenAid mixer in a contest and it is just what I have always wanted. The bowl cover makes mixing easy and mess free, it is a real treat to use my KitchenAid mixer.
Original Kitchen mixer has been working for over 17 years now. Took it with us to catering events and it's had a special place in the kitchen no matter where we go. Loved so much, was not so gently used, and lasted 17+ years. Highly recommend this mixer, never had a problem with it! We now own two (both in breast cancer pink)!
I Love my kitchen Aid tilt head stand mixer so much!! It has so much power. Now it does all the work and my arm muscles don't hurt from all the baking I do. I would recommend this Kitchen aid tilt head stand mixer to EVERYONE!! Weather you use it daily or every now and then it is well worth it
I purchased the artist and mixer in "Cranberry" and it is a beautiful addition to my kitchen. It is well-made and seems to work well. However, there are some design improvements that could be made to make it much more user-friendly.
1) It's quite heavy and difficult to move, especially if it needs to be stored away. A handle on top or a carrying case would allow for easier portability.
2) The mixing attachments and bowl design are beautiful, but not as functional as I would have liked. Ex. When whisking pudding mix with the wire whip there was a lot of mix still left in the bottom of the mixing bowl that had not been blended. The mixing bowl does not have a flat bottom so the mix got stuck in the crevices. The pointed shape of the attachments is supposed to account for this, but the whip didn't do a very good job. Plus, if you're using the pouring shield during the mixing process, you can't easily scrape the bottom of the bowl to correct this.
When using the flex edge beater for whipping up a cream cheese filling, it did a great job of scraping the sides, but left a ridge of partially mixed ingredients toward the top of the bowl. So I still had to scrape the sides to get what was in the top the bowl back into the mixture. Perhaps the attachment needs to be made taller to account for this.
3) The pouring shield is great for keeping powdery mixtures and liquidy ingredients from splattering all over the countertop. However, the shield does not cover the entire circumference of the bowl so ingredients still splatter onto the machine itself. It would have been a better design to have it to cover the entire bowl circumference to make cleaning the machine easier. It would also have allowed for users to place the pouring shield opening on either side of the bowl which would accommodate left-handed versus right-handed users.
There are some other minor suggestions I could make, but overall it's a very solid piece of equipment and definitely worth the $s.
