I received my new mixer for Christmas from my family. I love the gray color. The motor in it seems comparable to my old (20+ years) Kitchenaid mixer it replaced. That was a little disappointing. I do like having a handle on the bowl. It makes it easier to detach after it has been in use. I would never buy any other mixer except a Kitchenaid! My old mixer was passed down to my daughter. It still has some good years left in it!
I bought this to replace my 12 year old classic white mixer ( which still worked great). I wanted the fun lateen apple color and larger size bowl. I'm extremely happy with my new mixer and got to pass on my classic mixer.
I know it might sound weired but owning a kitchen aid was on my bucket list. Thanks to my wonderful fiancé I can now cross that off my list. I love my kitchen aid, I use it almost everyday.
My husband got it for me for my birthday. I have wanted one for as long as I can remember. Well, I thought, at my age(69) the amount of use I would get was very small. Was I ever wrong, use it all the time and it is wonderful. Saves me time and makes soooo many things easier. I love my husband most, but then comes my Kitchen Aid.
Bought the Artisan Series 5 Qt mixer after my old hand held mixer died while trying to mix a batch of stiff buttercream icing for cake class. The Kitchenaid mixer powers through stiff buttercream even in double batches. It also frees me up to do other tasks while ingredients mix. I bought the side scraping paddle for mine and use it all the time. Would recommend getting one. I also bought the veggie slicer/ cheese shredder attachment, not a huge fan of the slicer. It would probably be ok for cheese shredding or cole slaw but it doesn't give a very even slice of potatoe (we like homemade chips). Using the slicer attachment I end up with everything from hash brown to chips to left over chunks. A mandolin is better suited for even veggie slices. I'd skip the slicer/shredder if you want evenly sliced, neat looking veggies. Otherwise the stand mixer itself is a beast and well worth the money, and the extra paddle with side scrapers is very useful.
My husband bought me a kitchen aid mixer for valentine's day this year and I was shocked! I have wanted one forever, and finally have one! I must say, all the fuss is worth it!!! My batters are so much silkier and well incorporated than when I mix with my hand mixer. I am also freed up with my hands, so I can tend to things while the kitchen-aid, mixes my doughs! It's awesome and so pretty! We got the watermelon color and it really adds the perfect pop of color to my kitchen. I can't wait to add the ice cream and pasta attachments! The dough attachment that is included is particularly great! I make homemade pizza all the time and this makes it soooo much easier! I can't say this for any kitchen aid appliance (we were able to kill our blender in under a month), but this one is definitely an aid to our kitchen:)
