I recently started cake decorating and this was the best gift I could have gotten myself. I used to use a hand mixer when making my cakes and icing. The Artisan mixer has given me the opportunity to step away and work on something else while I am mixing cake batter or icing.
I received this mixer as a Christmas gift. I recently remodeled my kitchen and the cappucino color coordinated perfectly. Over 20 years ago my father worked as a custodian at a local school. They were updating their home economics department and were replacing their old Kitchen Aid mixers. He called and asked me if I would like one of the ones they were replacing. I couldn't wait for the chance to try it out! I used that mixer several times a week. My sister and I get together and have a Bake Off every Christmas season and wouldn't dream of attempting it without the Kitchen Aid. One of the differences I noticed between the new mixer and the old, is the new mixer's whisk attachment seems to be made cheaper. The whisk isn't as thick as the old and it is lighter in weight. I still love the tilt head. It was hard for me to give up the old mixer because my Dad passed away soon after he gave it to me and I felt it had alot of sentimental value. I had one daughter who was very close to her Grandpa so I gave it to her. It felt good to be able to pass it on. I don't know how long a school keeps their mixers before they replace them, but I had that one for over 20 years not counting the time the school had used it, and its still whipping, blending and folding! Keep up the good work!! Thank you for some awesome memories.
I love my Artisan mixer...I waited a long time to own one and the wait was so very worth it! Makes mixing so easy with very easy clean up. I am so impressed! Got mine in the color Espresso ... LOVE!
