I bought this item just before Christmas and I am so grateful for having it for all my cooking and baking. I also had to rely on it greatly when I hurt my wrist. Never thought I would like having one but now that I do I wouldn't go without!

I have owned a KitchenAid stand mixer since 1984. My first machine lasted over 20 years. It was still going when we remodeled our kitchen and wanted a Cobalt Blue on to match the décor. The new one worked well until the switch gave out after only four years. We took it to a repair shop where they fixed the switch, but that repair didn't last. The switch once again died (only the high speeds worked). so instead of repairing again, we decided to purchase another new one. Sadly, the new one we brought home had issues from the first use. It made lots of noise, and started smoking just mixing a batch of cookie dough. We called the retailer, who said to bring it back for an exchange, which we did. The new machine, fresh out of the box, also made more noise than we thought was normal. This machine actually stopped while mixing a batch of dough. Needless to say, we returned that machine to the retailer and brought home ANOTHER machine. This one appears to be functioning correctly, though we still think it makes more noise than it should be making.
What has happened to the quality of the KitchenAid brand? We prefer the style and versatility of the machine, but really are wondering if we shouldn't have purchased a Bosch.
We are recommending the machine, but with reservations about the consistency of your quality control. Plastic gears are no substitute for the brass gearing of the old machines.

Great quality product! My Mom has one that she's had for as long as I can remember. I followed in the tradition with a baby blue mixer that looks great in my kitchen! No regrets here.

I got this as a Christmas gift and LOVE it! So easy to use and clean-up is a breeze. After using a hand mixer for umpteen years, I am so happy to have this wonderful tool! Now I can make marshmallows and meringues easy as pie!

This is a great mixer! It is quite rugged and works well on whatever job I give it to do. And I love that it is purple!!! I have no complaints.

Artisan Mixer

I love my new Artisan Series mixer. I make dough in it and do not even have to scrape the sides of the bowl. The mixer does it all. I have Repetitive Motion Injuries to my hands and wrist and cannot stir any kind of dough. Without my new mixer, my baking days would be over.
