I’m about a week and half into it but has the first Instinct for years. This is a huge upgrade! The Amoled screen is great, so many features. If it keeps performing like the old one you won’t go wrong.
I have had a few Garmin watches in my life including Garmin Instinct, Forerunner and now Garmin Instinct III. While I have few complaints about the first two the Instinct III is hard to beat for durability, accuracy and dependability. It tracks all of the body metrics that I need tracked and very user friendly. I am not a runner so for runners this may not be the best option but for all others this is a great watch to have as a life trainer.
Clear sharp display, easy to read. I used the Garmin Connect app to choose a watch face with hour, minute, and second hands. I also went with the red, green and white display colors, making it even easier to read. The battery life is excellent, about two weeks, and the battery life indicator is accurate. My last watch would indicate nine days of battery life, but only go five. I use mine at work in the medical field. With some watches, when you wash your hands, it’s hard to get the watch clean and dry without removing it from your wrist. Not a problem with this one. I also use it to record my hikes. The hikes are fun to look at on the Connect app. I’m glad I chose this model. After two weeks of ownership I can see no downside.
Tools some getting used to compared to the original Instinct, but this thing is incredible. Love the detail and options. Like going from dial up internet to fiber. Massive difference in the best way.
I bought watch a little less than a month ago to replace my Garmin Venu Sq. That one was starting to become unreliable, and the battery wasn't lasting as long as it was before. The Instinct is so much better! The battery really does hold up for 18 days if you set it up to conserve when the display is on. I feel like this watch gives me much better monitoring capability. Navigation is easy with the buttons and the default settings are fine for me. The main watch display has a really nice summary of all the major stats and information that I'm interested: Time, day, month, day, temperature, high and low temperature, sunrise, sunset, steps, elevation, heart rate, and days left on the charge. I also like the morning stats that come up every morning. The torch flashlight is really bright for as small as it is. Overall it's a really great watch.
