Impressive unit for the size!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although I've longed for a pressure-washer for some time, I have not bought one because I've always considered them to be cumbersome & costly, for occasional use. The Greenworks GPW1501 has removed those objections.
As others have already mentioned, it's a compact unit and frankly, unpacking it, I felt there was going to be issues with it not being powerful enough but reading the quick-start guide was a breeze and I set-to cleaning the north-facing elevation of vinyl siding, uncleaned for at least eight years and showing lichen & algal growth from nearby bushes. I did have to snip a few branches away to get a clear shot of the vinyl but once sorted, I connected water & power and switched on, having earlier deciding to connect the green nozzle.
As I mentioned, I haven't used a power-washer before but have seen those (misleading) TV ads which show sprays shooting almost over the roof, so you can imagine my disappointment when, standing at the edge of the lawn with the nozzle about 2 feet away from the siding, there just appeared to be a spray exiting the nozzle without any force on the siding! So wondering if I was doing something wrong, I checked the booklet and tried again but this time with the nozzle about 4" from the siding. What a difference!!
Without using the detergent-bottle, the resultant force just stripped the lichen & algae cleanly from the siding. What a relief! The alternative crossed my mind that I might have to use a bucket & brush to scrub it clean and I wasn't looking forward to that!
I proceeded to clean the front siding, inner porch ceiling (which is PVC), the door-frame & door, the porch wooden floor and two pillars and finally, two stone-steps and granite-cobbled pathway. The unit performed flawlessly although I did get into a tangle at one point with hose & electric-lead but that was user-error!
I have just three observations to add as a 'wish-list' to suggest as improvements. 1) Extended wand-length. 2) Better, less-kinking pressure-hose. 3) Taller unit from base to handle-top.
I am 6'2" with about 3' arm-reach and standing at the edge of the lawn/border and using the standard want, I was unable to spray within the useful 4-6" needed, to clean beneath the eaves. In the end I did what I could but bushes in the way would make ladder-use very awkward. If there was an additional 4' extension within the unit (if it didn't affect the power-output), I think anyone could clean their single-storey property effortlessly.
The pressure-hose from unit to wand, could do with being a non-kink variety of material ... similar to some of those TV ads for metallic hoses ... since even though I unwound it to straighten before use, it was cold outside and moving from place to place, just caused loops to form from it's memory.
Coiling-up the electric-cable and the pressure-hose after use could perhaps, be improved upon if the unit itself could accommodate the winding, rather than a (usefully included) velcro strap for the hose & a plastic-tie for the cable. To house the windings though, I think the units should be a bit taller.
None of the suggestions though should detract anyone from considering to buy this unit. In fact I was quite shocked to see how little it cost AFTER using it and posting this review.

Light weight but powerful Pressure Washer

I was surprised to see how small and light the shipping box was. However I have not been disappointed in the power and portability of the washer.
It arrival was timed to my fall season removal of 3x rain barrels. These always accumulate roof shingle debris and smaller needles. This pressure washer did a great job cleaning the inside sludge and the outside dirt, pollen and grim buildup. I used the narrow angle nozzle for this task.
I also used this to pressure wash an area of my deck below 3 bird feeders. This area accumulates wasted seeds, empty shells and bird "white wash". The lightness of the pressure washer allowed it to be carried in one hand and the sprayer wand operated with the other. I used the wide angle nozzle for this.
Overall I liked the portability and power of this device.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this pressure washer to do a number of small jobs I have around the house and yard. The first thing that impressed me was how well the the unit was packed. Everything I needed to assemble the unit was easy to find. The best part was that all the items fit and assembled without any problem. Taking it out of the box and getting it ready to work was a breeze! I have several projects in mind but I decided to start with a wooden bench I have in the backyard. This bench is exposed to all our weather which can include snow, rain and blazing sun. It also collects a good amount of lichen on the wood as well. I thought this would be a good test of this unit. I did everything according to the instructions and the result was a great looking refreshed bench. The bench came out great. The lichen was removed easily and the wood looked great. It is now ready for a light sanding and a coat of polyurethane. This pressure washer did just what I got it for. I am very pleased with the unit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this pressure washers to remove the paint off my house rather then scraping.Very easy to assemble compact and very easy to maneuver around the house. Plenty of hose and electrical cord to do a large area before having to move. Came with a nozzle recommended for this project and it did the job above my expectations. Remove the paint without damaging the wood. Was so impressed with this project I tried it on the wife's SUV with the recommended nozzle and it removed the dirt and grime without a scrubbing. I just have to say an amazing machine. Thanks GreenworksTools

Excellent for washing cars

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own a larger gas powered pressure washer but it's a pain to get it out and setup every time I wash the cars or need to clean a small area on the driveway or sidewalk. This little machine is fantastic for those jobs. It's light weight and quick and easy to setup. So far I have used it for car washing, cleaning dirt and mold off of the brick foundation and steps, spot cleaning the driveway, and window washing. It is very easy to move around but the 20' hose and 35' power cord make it almost unnecessary. Also because it's electric there are no fumes or odors so you can use or store it in the garage easily.

Very convenient vs. gasoline pressure washer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As background, I've been power washing for about 20 years with my 5hp gasoline 2400 psi power washer, which works well for big jobs like my driveway or the outside walls of my house. Although, it’s always an ordeal getting the gasoline unit setup and running. Therefore, I got the Greenworks Pressure Washer for the normal to small jobs around the house.
After using the 1500 PSI Pressure washer on different projects, I can say it works well.
Pros:
• Convenient – especially when compared to a gasoline pressure washer. No need to fiddle around with getting a gas engine running and filling it up with gas.
• Light and maneuverable – which means it can be moved around easily and carried up stairs to clean a porch or upper deck.
• Good pressure – watch the video to see it working
• Quiet – compared to a gasoline engine. Especially since a gasoline engine needs to run all the time vs. the Greenworks, which only turns on when you pull the trigger.
• Compact storage
After using the 1500 PSI Pressure washer on different projects, I can say it works well.

• Electrical plug will not stay plugged in the wall, since the weight of the circuit breaker pulls it out (see picture). So, I ended up having to put a box under the plug to support the weight.
• My finger kept on getting pinched in the gap between the green trigger and the black handle enclosure (see video at about 1:30)
• Pressure hose is stiff and should be unwound to help keep it from kinking.

Great Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got my 1500 psi electric pressure washer a couple of days ago and it is great. I used it to clean some green stuff off of the outside of my house. I also washed off the concrete of my patio and part of my deck. The Greenworks pressure washer performed admirably in all of these situations. It is extremely easy to set up, I did not even have to read the instructions to figure it out. In addition it runs very quiet compared to a gas pressure washer and doesn't produce the gas exhaust that you would find with a gas version. It is also very light, I can easily carry it around with me where ever I need to go. The pressure washer is also very small and will be easy to find somewhere to store.
I would recommend this to a friend!
