Great TV, but would like to use only one remote

Love the tv, picture, clarity and size. Just hate the fact that I can't link my satellite remote so that I only have to use one remote to turn on and turn off. Tried several different suggestions from YouTube videos and none of them make it work consistently. LG should make it easier to coordinate the remotes as well as explain the home screen functions.
