Planned obsolescence

I purchased the black model one year and three weeks ago and now it has totally stopped working. The timer dial was always hard to turn and often took both hands to turn. a little over a month ago the on light stopped working and now nothing works. It certainly feels like planned obsolescence since the warranty expired three weeks ago.

The timer dial should turn smoothly with one hand, so the stiffness you described isn’t typical of how the control is designed to function. In some cases, wear in the mechanical timer or internal switch can cause both the dial resistance and the indicator light to stop functioning properly over time. When that component fails, it can also prevent the oven from powering on.
We understand how frustrating it must feel that this occurred just after the warranty period, and we want to reassure you that our products are not designed with planned obsolescence in mind. Our appliances go through durability and safety testing to meet performance standards, and many customers use their ovens for several years.
Even though your warranty has recently expired, our customer care team would consider the warranty options. In some cases, we’re able to offer troubleshooting guidance or a courtesy resolution depending on the situation. A great and unique oven/toaster for my needs.

I had an Oster bake/toaster for a long time, the best. I miss it so much and I am looking for a new one. Is great for baking, which I do a lot for two people. Also, it is the right oven for me because i am afraid of all the gadgets in the new toaster/oven. Simple the best.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Makes noise

The whole time it is in baking mode the oven makes tapping noises as the metal expands and contracts. It’s very irritating. Otherwise the oven works well.

Awesome countertop oven
