When your teenage daughter ask you to buy her one, you know this vacuum has to be good. I actually use this vacuum almost every day. It's a great buy and worth the money I spent.
I bought this specifically because I have carpeted stairs and 2 cats who love to play on them. I saw this and thought it would be so much handier than my heavy vacuum. DID NOTHING! The hair stayed on the stairs no matter what I did with this vacuum
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thanks for your feedback, Kalie. The FeatherWeight is our lightest weight stick vacuum made to be compact and helpful for small spaces and quick cleanups. It doesn't have a spinning brush roll, so it works best on hard floors and as a hand vacuum.
I use this for quick vacuuming of pet hair and dust on laminate floors. I also use it on mats at the doors. It has excellent suction. I have one for the family room/kitchen, and another for the bedrooms. I really like this vacuum, it is very lightweight and maneuverable, and I like that it converts to a handheld. I also was pleased to find the replacement filters on your site; I ordered several, and can put a new one in while the other is being washed. The only flaw is the length of cord, as mentioned by many reviewers. I have solved by using a simple extension cord so I don't have to keep changing outlets.
Due to a shipping mix up Bissell gifted this vacuum to me! It was a great gift! I love it and will most likely end up buying more of them. I plan to use it in my kitchen to do a quick pickup of dog hair and other debris. I also plan to use the handheld portion to vacuum out the crevices on my kitchen table. I just got it, so I'm sure I will think of a thousand other things I can vacuum with it. It's a great product and I would definitely recommend it to others. Also, Bissell is taking care of the other products in my order that I was supposed to get! They are a great company!!
So I didn't really understand the concept of this machine until it arrived. It is essentially a dustbuster with a longer handle and broader suction head. You literally add a wand handle and a head to a small handheld vacuum to make it longer. That's it. There is no moving part like an agitator or roller in the head. Since the most annoying part of a dustbuster is the bending over, I think I will like this unit - so far so good with loose dirt. I did have to loosen stuck on bits before it would pick them up. But not bending over is great, and this unit accomplishes that.
