blows cold, terrible connection design

the hose connector is so poorly designed, you'll spend every day trying to reconnect the flimsy plastic hose inside the flimsy plastic slot and trying to keep it together as you slot it in you try to wedge it into your window, only for it to disassemble itself an hour later.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Do not buy. Stopped blowing cold air in less 4 months. TCL provided no help.

An okay little unit for a small room.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an okay little AC unit. It will cool off a small room. Like a 10x10 or a 9x9. It might do a 12x12 or 14x14 if you don’t have large windows. I tried it out in our living room which has 2 large windows. And it barely kept it up our 14x14 living room on a hot week. It isn’t that loud for an AC unit but most are so I just ignore the noise. I like that it is on wheels. If you order this online it will take forever to get to you though and TCL customer service is horrible. I like that it is on a remote and you can control the function of the unit that way. It is a nice little machine. The design of the window insert could be better as it leave lost of gaps so prepare to use more than what they provide to keep bugs from getting in from your window. There is also no drain hose with this model. You will have to buy one if you want it to continuous drain.

Ice cold for those hot summer days!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just received this. I never thought I was going to get it, but it came just in time. it’s the perfect size to go in our bedroom. Our house does not have central air two years ago. We got a big portable air conditioner to go in the living room, but it does not cool down our bedroom and this cools down our bedroom and our bathroom so fast I absolutely love it. I love the design as well. I love that it’s a square instead of that awkward shape that other portable air conditioners are that are really big in bulky and kind of hard to find space for. The noise level isn’t too bad. It’s on par with other portable air conditioners but the one thing that sets us apart is that it does have two fan speeds so you can turn it down so the noise is quieter which is really nice. It comes with a remote and it’s also smart so you can connect it to the app. I connected it to the third-party app and then just connected it to my Google home and it’s really great because it tracks your usage you can turn it on remotely. Change the speeds and turn it off of course. This air conditioner also has a dehumidifier and just a regular fan which is really great and the air filter is pretty small and removable so you can just remove it every week and clean it out which is really nice. It also came with a drain hose, which is amazing. I highly recommend this air conditioner. I think it is well worth it. Absolutely love it!

Very powerful AC unit. Wonderful quality.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are in love with our new AC unit. It is on wheels so it’s easily portable to change rooms around your home. We’ve even used it outdoors when we want to cool ourselves off on our patio. It comes with attachments to install it onto your window easily And the set up is very quick. The fan speed is very strong and cools off a room extremely quickly. It also has a timer function and you can set the desired room temperature so it will turn off and on when it needs to and not constantly run. This helps conserve energy. It comes with two different fan speeds and a remote, which is very convenient. It’s not extremely loud easy and has a nice white noise sound to it. This will make our summers so much more comfortable, and I highly recommend it.

Light and portable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first portable AC and humidifier combo after years of using a window system. It takes a bit of time and patience to properly prep and insulate the window to get the air hose to fit, but one you figure it out it’s actually easier to install by yourself then having lift a heavy unit into the window. What is also nice is that you can use it if your window slides open from the side or from the bottom.
I placed mine close to the window, but if it were further away, the hose might be too short. Since it was still pretty cold outside, the picture I took of the unit is after I uninstalled it since it is still pretty cold outside.
Overall the machine is pretty quiet, however if you use the energy mode when it powers down, the change of sound is still enough to wake up a light sleeper. You can also change the air flow by adjusting the vents openings. One con I found is that you will need to drain the unit from time to time. I found this to be a pain, but I guess the water needs to go somewhere.
