Doesn’t clean well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Dishwasher looks good and is quite but dishes are not getting cleaned as well as my old kenmore that it replaced which is a problem. I don’t overload I pre rinse I don’t scrub but I rinse just as I have always done. I am finding things still streaked and not clean. I have tried every cycle This should not be a problem with technology today. As a matter of fact most advertising now suggests that you don’t have to even rinse and they will get cleaned! I tried the two samples of finish detergent pods and my cascade complete that I already use and still find some items dirty! Not happy! Have called for service to check this week.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Water Supply: Ensure the water supply valve is completely open and the water pressure is between 20 to 120 psi. Verify correct installation of any anti-flood device.
Rinse Aid: Use liquid rinse aid to optimize drying, improve wash performance, and control hard water deposits.
High-Temperature Wash: Consider using a high-temperature wash option to improve cleaning for loads with tough, baked-on food.
Proper Loading
Do Not Overload: Ensure enough space for water and detergent circulation.
Angle Items: Load items at an angle, pointed toward the spray arms, to promote water runoff and better drying.
Plastic Items: For best drying, load plastic and nonstick items in the third-level rack (if available). Do not put them on the lower rack.
Detergent Usage
Type: Use automatic dishwasher detergent only. High-quality pre-measured tablets and packs are recommended for improved performance and reducing film.
Placement: Place pre-measured detergents in the main compartment.
Storage: Store detergent in a tightly closed, cool, dry place for freshness.
Dish Soap: Never use dish soap. If suds are present, turn off the dishwasher and allow them to dissipate.
Maintenance

I miss my 30 year old Whirlpool dishwasher.

I replaced my 30 year old Whirlpool dishwasher with this new version and I am quite a bit disappointed at the new engineering of this dishwasher.
My old dishwasher had the silverware holder on the door. The new dishwasher has the silverware holder where the dishes are put, taking up a lot of space.
The old dishwasher could actually hold all 13 of my bowls of various sizes on the bottom rack, with room to hold all 10 of my dinner plates with room to spare for other things. This is because the bottom rack had two different height tines sticking up, with the taller ones in one of the rows to hold the bowls properly. The new dishwasher is basically useless for holding any type of bowl. I can now only put 5 bowls in the bottom rack because you have to take up two spaces (because of the short spines), so the bowls don’t rest on each other and because the silverware rack is in the same place, even less space is available for the bowls. The top rack spines and design of the older dishwasher was simple and would hold small plates, cups, bowls and just about more of anything compared to the top rack of the new dishwasher, which clumsily holds most dishes.
My old dishwasher would wash the dishes in less than an hour, then I would prop open the door to let them air dry and they would be completely dry in an hour or less - no rinse aid was ever used. The new dishwasher doesn't completely dry the dishes, even when using the heated dry “normal” setting - I haven't tried the “max” dry setting yet. I think the reason why the new dishwasher doesn’t dry well is because it is stainless steel inside and it uses about ⅓ the amount of water in the bottom compared to the old dishwasher. Stainless steel pulls a lot of the heat from the water and does the same when it is drying, causing the moisture to condensate on the walls, instead of going out as steam. Plastic is not a good conductor, and is a better option for the inside of a dishwasher.
On a positive note, the dishwasher is very quiet compared to my old dishwasher. Though I would rather have the 5.3 amp motored noisy pump on the old dishwasher, that worked perfectly for 30 years. Simplicity is best - one giant pump motor for cleaning and draining with one water inlet. The pump on the old dishwasher had enough power to spin the lower sprayer, and still shoot up enough water pressure to spin the upper sprayer (through the air to a cone shaped receptor on the bottom of the upper sprayer) and still had water pressure to bounce off the roof of the dishwasher and spray down from the top. And because the old dishwasher used more water, the dishes got cleaner faster, and stayed hot longer so they could air dry without using the heated dry setting.
You can’t see inside the new dishwasher. This is because stainless steel absorbs more light than the white plastic of the old dishwasher. Again, white plastic is a better option for the inside of a dishwasher.
The stainless steel interior of the new dishwasher shows all kinds of water spots. Again, white plastic is a better option for the inside of the dishwasher.
The new dishwasher doesn’t have a door vent. Though the door is propped open automatically when the wash/dry cycle is complete, air can’t circulate inside the dishwasher when the door is closed, so it is now a great spot to grow smelly things - as dirty dishes aren’t completely dry when you put them in the dishwasher.
This new dishwasher is supposedly more energy efficient - but because it doesn’t air dry and I am forced to use heated dry to barely get the dishes somewhat dry, I am guessing this dishwasher uses quite a bit more energy than my 30 year old dishwasher.
To Whirlpool - please have your engineers look at the designs of your 30 year old dishwashers, that in the end were a very simple design that got the dishes cleaner and dryer in less time, had the silverware holder in the door so there was more room for dishes in the main compartment, had longer spines on the bottom rack to hold more bowls properly, with an upper rack that was simple that held more of just about any dish you could put in it and it didn’t use as much energy because the white plastic didn’t pull out heat like stainless steel does (and you can actually see inside the white plastic interior), and more water got the dishes cleaner faster and heated up the dishes so that there wasn’t a need to use the heated dry option to dry the dishes if the door was propped open. One very powerful pump and one water inlet - the simplest, most effective design for getting dishes clean and dry in the shortest amount of time without using heating elements to dry dishes (even though it had the heating element, it wasn’t needed).

Dead, 2 Mo After Install, Waiting 12 days for Tech

I used to recommend Whirlpool (& KitchenAid) DW to anyone who asked. No More. Not because of this early failure (which can happen), but because of the LONG WAIT to get warranty service (this is not a rural area this is in the Boston area.) DW was installed 6-10-26, died (no display, nothing!) 8-27-26, 2-1/2 months after install. Verified 120V power was being supplied at terminal strip, then called for warranty service. Was promised service visit A WEEK after calling, then service company called said Whirlpool overbooked them, they're now expected to arrive 12 days after calling. It's been 8 days. We all know how this will go... service will visit, have to order a part, that will take a week or perhaps weeks, then another service call will have to be scheduled to install it. Both parents are working, so someone will have to miss work each service call, not to mention the BIG INCONVENIENCE of not having a working DW in a family with young children. All while, we hope the right part was ordered, the tech doesn't break something installing it and it doesn't happen again. Finally, I'd like to mention, for some insane reason this model machine DOES NOT have a child lock feature. Otherwise, this was a fine DW.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

quick start guide useless.. machine itself is grea

the quick start guide contains a QR code to scan foe installation instructions. When you scan the code you are to taken to instructions for a top load washing machine. Its a good thing i have common sense and mechanical abilities i was able to figure out install without the instructions.
