Handle broke while in water and camera sank

Used the Handler attached to a Hero7 during a snorkeling trip. While in the water, the handle simply came apart where the black rubber handle met at the orange cap. The remainder of the handle and the camera sank to the bottom and was lost.
I contacted GoPro about the product being defective and was told they would do nothing but replace the handle.
Would not trust using the product for water sports in deep water.

Handy bit of kit

Better than trying to use a wrist mount for coastering ect point at yourself up down better for panning around feels natural without breaking yer wrist :sunglasses::ok_hand::+1:

Great products with a quality that will easily suffise for your activities. Only one thing ! More material should be added on the bite mount, to ensure safety for the teeth. Otherwise very good !

Rugged, long lasting, years in salt water

Excellent quality. I've used this for many years on many trips all over and it continues to hold up just fine. Knock off stuff or things bought elsewhere just don't hold up this well, especially with so much exposure to salt water.

Accessoire de super qualité. Agréable a tenir en main et flotte super bien le bout orange dépasse bien de la surfasse de l'eau. Je me suis bien amusé a lancé ma GoPro dans la piscine et la voir remonté a la surface.

BAD Connection/Mount Design - GoPro LOST in the Costa Rican River

Concerning the GoPro AFHGM-003 Handler Floating Hand Grip. I’ve had one of GoPro's previously designed floating handles for quite a few years, but had to get a new one due to damage to the wrist strap. So two weeks ago I purchased GoPro's newly designed handle (GoPro AFHGM-003 Handler Floating Hand Grip) , last minute for a trip I was going on to Costa Rica. I’m disappointed to say that within the first two hours of using this new floating grip, my GoPro Hero 7 Black, which I’ve had for 4 years, became dislodged from the new floating grip's snap-mount connection and fell into the Costa Rican river rapids, never to be seen again. My previous GoPro Floating Grip used the thumb screw connection, for a secure connection, where the GoPro Camera could not break free. I’m disappointed that the new design, allows for the camera to fairly easily become dislodged from the Floating Grip, due to the snap-mount connection they now use. Why, specifically for a floating grip, which is specifically made/purchased to help “save” your non-floating GoPro camera from sinking in the water if dropped, etc., would this floating grip be designed to be able to be so easily dislodged from the non-floating camera. Case-in-point, my GoPro Hero 7 Black and all my photos/videos are now at the bottom of a Costa Rican river, while I’m now back in the USA, even after I purchased this floating grip specifically to prevent this.
