Great and Terrible

I want to give these lights a 5 star so bad because they look amazing, they were easy to install, and the app has been very easy to use. BUT the fact that I cannot buy an extra extension to properly fit my house is outrageous. There is (1) in the box, but they do not sell them separately!? Why? Every house is different, and the extensions would allow for customers to custom fit their house. Right now it is incomplete because I have no more extensions. I have had several neighbors and friends ask about the lights since I installed them, but it is a shame that no one thought to sell a simple extension separately.

I just finished installing 300 ft of white pro permanent lights. Connecting lights and setup, splicing was all very easy. My only complaint is with the adhesive for lights don't work long term and not enough clips for each light.
I had lights falling off in less than 24 hours (appropriate prep was completed). Because I had done my research I had expected this and used the included clips at each light…there wasn't enough clips for each light as that is probably not the intention of those clips. As a DIY homeowner I don't want to have to worry about the adhesive coming off and having to get back up on ladder months or years later to fix a hundred lights when I can use screws to secure them once and be done. There should be more secure way to keep these lights maintenance free because most people won't trusts the adhesive to work long term for every light.

I'm really liking the Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights Pro. The lighting effects are very customizable and the lights are super bright. They were mostly easy to install, but I do think a few changes could be made to improve the experience:
1. Trying to strip the flat wire and extract the 3 wires inside to also be stripped is kind of difficult. It's really easy to end up damaging the internal wires in the process.
2. The lengths of the extensions could be better. Maybe providing some wire and the connectors and allowing users to create custom lengths would be a better option instead of a one-size-fits-all approach.

Great outdoor lights

I was first looking at these last year when the original non-pro version was available. However, they were impossible to get and I didn't really like the white color. I'm glad I waited because not only does the pro version come in black, but they have dedicated white LEDs and each kit comes with 3 extensions (one 12 ft., two 4 ft.) and some very nice weatherproof splices if you need to cut/extend the lights.
We don't have a solid surface under the eaves , so I had to create something. I got some 2" furring strips and painted them and screwed them in under the eaves. That gave a nice straight surface for mounting the lights. We have sort of a complex roof line in the front, so the installation took about 5 days or so for everything (About ~200 ft. worth of lights) including painting/mounting the furring strips.
One important thing I will say about install is make sure you mount these about 2-3 inches from the wall! A lot of the people on Youtube that have videos installing/reviewing these lights install them way too far from the wall, closer to the gutter. This causes you to lose that curved glow that shines down the wall.
The 3M adhesive on each light is ok, but it needs reinforcement IMO. The lights come with some nice screw in clips, but they only come with about 30 of them per lighting kit. This is enough for 1 clip approximately every other light. Not a huge deal, but it would be nice if Govee included enough clips to have one on each side of each light to really secure them. I ended up using zip ties on the side of each light which actually worked even better in my scenario. I also mounted the power supplies/controllers in the garage and ran the cables up and out one of the soffits in the back.
Overall, I'm fairly impressed with everything and the Govee app has a lot of options if you really want to get creative and put time into it.

wanted to love them, tape is cheap brackets useless

Wanted to love these, I had some in my old home for over 3 years and they were only on with tape, to take them out the first one almost took the wall with it, so the new owners got permenanent lights for free... these new ones, less than 2 days later, they are coming off, some the tape came out of the wall some the tape came out of the light... the brackets are useless!!! they do not really hold the light tight so the tape fails, the light falls and no longer aligned. I really wanted to love these, but they are a PIA. No wonder all the other closes have build in screw mounts, they knew... now I am stuck with 3 sets of 100 lights it will take me another few hundred $$ to get good 3rd party brackets... if only they did not go cheap, so many adhesive tapes that are great, they used the cheapest possible!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
