I would reccomend using the supplied brackets if your soffits aren't perfectly flat and use rubbing alcohol to clean the surface before you stick the 3M tape. A lot of reviews complain about the tape not sticking but if you clean the mating surface properly, it will stick just fine. Again, the brackets give extra security to make sure the lights stay in place. The lights look great and I love the fact that I won't have to hang lights now every year.
I installed these lights at the beginning of December, just in time to have Christmas lights up all month long. These are by far the best lights I’ve seen in person. I’ve had multiple people in my neighborhood ask me about them, and a couple of them ordered some themselves. Installation was simple, did take a few hours because I’m scared of heights and climbing ladders takes forever for me. After purchasing the Pros, I was disappointed to find out that the spacing in between each light was larger than the non-pros, but after seeing a couple of homes with the non-pros, I think the extra spacing actually looks a lot better. You will not be disappointed with these lights, I can’t recommend them enough!
The permanent outdoor lights really are a great solution for Christmas lights. Definitely recommend using the support brackets along with the adhesive strips though. The adhesive only lasts so long.
