I bought this to replace a panini grill that had for awhile. The main reason I chose this model by Cuisinart is because of the fact that The plates detached from the grill and can be hand washed or can go in the dishwasher. My last grill was a real pain in the butt to clean. This will make your life so much easier.

Product didn't work properly. It didn't matter if I used the Griddle or the grill, the knobs were not working and the light on each knob would go off and on no matter where the setting was. I have returned it for a replacement, not really expecting anything better, but we'll see. I am familiar with potentiometers since I am educated in industrial electronics. The quality of these potentiometers are very very cheap.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This griddler appears to be well made. It has a great overall appearance and is easy to store, clean and use. The only downfall is the top burner and the bottom burner are not in sync. One is always cooler than the other. Tried pre heat to no avail.

I wanted a quicker way to cook things, smaller appliance that did several things. I am still learning how to master panini's but am already in love with this machine. I have used both sides at once for cooking and single sided. There are so many possibilities. The clean up so incredibly easy. Can't go wrong with this machine.
