I have used this twice after reading the (short) manual completely; we are returning it Tuesday - entails a 90 mile round trip to the nearest WS store. The top does not adjust for variable sandwich depths as stated in the ad, manual etc We have enjoyed grilled cheese that had the cheese squashed out as well as buttered buns that were turned into cracker thickness.
I like how the griddle cooks but I do have one issue with it. When you are cooking something like hamburgers and when you open the lid to check for doneness, the grease from the top of the lid drips down the back and onto the counter, other than that...It's a pretty handy little appliance.
This is my second 5-in-1 griddler since my first one failed under warranty. Quisinart was great about replacing the failed one quickly and completely. I use this nearly every day for things like quesadillas, fried eggs (it helps to tilt it to level the griddle surface), waffles (with the optional waffle plates), and grilled cheese sandwiches. It takes a few minutes to heat up and then, after using it, the plates clean up with a paper towel or go into the dishwasher. easy, easy, easy. I'm glad that I didn't give up after the first one. The second one is going strong now for a couple of months.
Great little kitchen grill! You can cook and grill a wide variety of foods! I have only tried a few things ( grilled chicken, fish and steak) can't wait to try more. Very easy to clean! Love it!
I have owned several of these and loved them to death. Unfortunately, the plate locking mechanisms wear out after about six or seven years of hard use. Otherwise I'd still own my first one.
We have wanted one of these Griddlers for some time. It is perfect for cooking outside on the balcony keeping the cooking smells out of the townhouse. Oh, and it does a great job preparing bacon!
