Good design and build quality

I've been impressed with the noise level from the grinder... its pretty quite and doesnt have that high pitched sound like some grinders. Overall the quality and balance is top notch. Plus i appreciate that it comes with 3 different guards to use depending on your project. One of them has a removable piece that wraps around the wheel to block a majority of sparks from hitting the user. The only thing i would like to be bit larger is the trigger lock, sometimes its hard to release with a gloved hand. Other than that, its awesome!

Grinder with 3 different safety guards.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Another good grinder from Dewalt. Paddle switch is a great feature. It comes with 3 different guards to use depending on the work you’re doing. They are easy to change too. We use it to custom fit sheet metal parts for signs. Easier to use than a corded grinder for turns and tights spots.

Very Comfortable grinder for all day use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the opportunity to use this grinder while building a utility trailer over the weekend. I really got to out it through its paces. Out of all of the cordless grinders I used over the years, the feature of the DCG408B I enjoyed the most was the automatic braking. Multiple times on plunge cuts into steel, the grinder would "brake" itself as my position changed, avoiding a broken cut off wheel. and possibly- A terrible injury to the user. I also found that the paddle/trigger was wildly easy to use and very tactile with welding gloves on. If there was anything I would like to see changed, it would be the safety lever on the paddle. It is just a tad "low" and you really need to teach yourself how to activate the lever with gloves on. This is a very minor thing, and I would not let it detract you from purchase. Blade changes were a breeze. Great tool!

On the go grinder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The love the ease of use. This grinder is seconds away from opening and using. All you need to do is insert a battery and attach a blade. The chuck is super easy to remove. The trigger allows for safe use and quick release which will aid in preventing accidents.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The paddle switch angle grinder is a great addition to my DeWalt power tools. This tool is so easy to use. The handle can be used for right and left handed, changing the blades is really easy to do. I found it very useful and safe to operate.

Ease of changing wheel and shields.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was hard putting down my trusty corded angle grinder but too far from an outlet and cutting some steel grating for a wood shed floor, this tool did the job. Nice weight, not too heavy with battery and enough power to get the job done. All told maybe about 45 minutes of cutting and grinding, still 1 bar left on the battery. What I like is the ease, plus quickness of adjusting the direction of the grinders shield and changing from a cutting to a grinding disk including swapping out different sheilds. It seems well made, had issues at first with the trigger safety switch but after about a dozen or so off/on my fingers figured it out. My only issue and the reason for a 4 star is that there isn't a brake for the wheel. Yes it slows it down a lot compared to others but when you release that trigger that wheel should stop. What I like the best of this grinder is how easy to change the wheel but mostly the shield. Well designed, good job.

-Cleans rough edges with flap disc with no trouble.
-Cut and cleaned several metal pieces over approximately 1 hour timeframe and only depleted 1 bar from 20 volt (5ah) battery
• Versatility
-Ability to move the guard around the disk to cut from any side while remaining protected
-The handle is able to be installed on both sides for right or left handed use
-Can be used with 20 volt or FLEXVOLT batteries
-Light weight, rugged construction
---Feels very solid without being too heavy for convenient use.

-Whether using flat cutting wheel, flap disc, or grinding wheel reversible lock nut allows for versatility in disks
