I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your 1000 Lumens LED Lantern with BatteryGuard™.
Please try the following steps:
1. Make sure the BatteryGuard tab/lever is in the ON position.
2. Unscrew the bottom battery compartment by turning it counterclockwise (to the left).
3. Verify that the batteries are installed correctly according to the polarity markings (+/-).
4. Ensure the batteries are fresh and fully charged.
5. Reattach the battery compartment securely and try turning the lantern on again.
If you are still unable to remove the bottom compartment or get the lantern to turn on, please reach out to us by phone for further assistance.

Don’t order this product. The part where you put the batteries in you cannot get the lid closed. There’s some type of defect with this design.

Don’t buy the junk Battery guard lanterns

I have two battery guard lanterns both are now junk as the cheap on off switch is broken on both of them. And no replacement knobs are available. This is crazy that you can not purchase new knobs.

Don’t Be Dumb

I feel that I owe it to Coleman and to anybody out there with a brain to write a good review for this product. If you are not an idiot, you will love this product. I just took it out of the package and put the batteries in. It works great and is very bright. Most people only take time to leave negative reviews. Just carefully close the battery compartment in reverse of how you opened it. Don’t try to turn the knob past the stopping points. It’s made of plastic because plastic is affordable and lightweight. I am fully satisfied with my purchase. If somebody had left a review like this when I was reading them before my purchase, I would not have been so hesitant for no reason.
I would recommend this to a friend!
