Great laptop but the on-board speakers are terrible. I recently purchased a 12" Lenovo and the speakers on it are good. Perhaps the speakers on the 16" are defective. I would've given a 5 Star rating, if not for the speakers.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 4.5 out of 5 stars. I removed half a star due to issue with using Wi-Fi 7 card and BIOS errors running Linux distro. This is my 3rd E series, but first in 16 inch size. Using the Intel BE200 card the machine will not boot, not even to UEFI/BIOS. Which OS didn't matter. After initial first boot to confirm everything worked, I removed rear cover, removed original ram, installed two 32GB Corsair sticks and a 1TB Samsung 990 pro m.2. Confirmed everything showed up in BIOS, shut off secure boot changed boot priority order and loaded Debian OS from USB drive. Installed Debian without issue and left the original m.2 in place if I ever need to boot into Windows (need to reactivate secure boot to do so). When booting Linux there are some BIOS errors, machine still boots fine but occasionally hangs at the grub menu and I need to hard reset. I'm hoping future firmware updates to BIOS will fix issue. Acpci errors I believe, but would need to look at logs again to confirm exact error.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received this laptop a few weeks ago and so far I've been very pleased with it! It shipped securely and I've been using it regularly without any issues so far. I bought a ThinkPad to last so the real test will be to see how it holds up in a few years. I have high hopes though!
