An excellent Nakiri blade from a tried and true 4 star brand. It appears and works as a slimmed down cleaver. Excellent for chopping lots of vegetables and herbs. The blade is strong, sharp and durable. Well balanced with a nice smooth and comfortable handle. Prep your stir frys with this knife.

Comfortable & Light!

Nakiri knife have the same feature of a 7" vegetable cleaver knife, it is about the same size but not as wide and not daunting. Though it has a slightly narrower blade, its purpose is the same. This knife has a comfortable handle encourages cutting with improved precision, safety and comfort. Upon cutting food, the blade is useful in scooping from the cutting board. Great for chopping, cutting and slicing meat, vegetables, fruits, poultry, and can be a cake knife. This knife is forged from a single piece of Special Formula High-Carbon NO STAIN stainless steel, durable, Ice-hardened FRIODUR blade and resilient.

Four Star knives have one of my favorite handles because they are molded to provide a super comfortable non slip grip. The Nakiri knife profile is similar to a butcher knife in that it has a broader blade that allows you to make heavy cuts. Both have the squared off tip and a straight blade that allow you to cut all the way through to the board without a push pull horizontal motion. This is great for cutting vegetable because of the super sharp edge and the single motion your vegetables are being sliced and not split or broken.

Classic Japanese Chopping Knife

The nakiri is one of my favorite shapes. It is a traditional knife in Japanese cooking; there isn't much that cannot be done with it. Asian cooking involves a fair amount of prepping - pre-cutting of vegetables and proteins. This knife is a workhorse. Soft vegs or hard, thin slices or cubes of meat or chicken, this knife does it all.
There’s a reason the Four Star line has been a part of Zwilling’s lineup forever. It was designed with professionals in mind, so the focus was on safety, comfort and durability. The ‘grippy’ polypropylene handle is proportionate to the blade and the work - therefore no excess weight. The blade steel and method of construction is proprietary and at the forefront of technology. The blade can both take a beating and hold an edge, ideal for daily use and hard work.
Although dishwasher safe, all knives perform and look better if they are hand washed. I’ve had a Four Star in my collection for decades. And it still looks almost new.

A Nakiri has a flat cutting edge to provide the best blade to surface contact area. This knife allows for larger piles of food to be chopped. The slight curve on the end of the Four Star version gives the ability to rock the blade slightly to achieve the desired results.

Not Your Standard Nakiri

This Nakiri is more narrow than others which is a benefit. I use it more as a chefs knife because of the narrowness. The tip is more rounded that other Nakiris as well which helps is slicing ability. Handle is nice and light weight so perfect for big prep jobs.

Great Nakiri knife

A great Japanese blade made with German engineering and steel. The nakiri is a great vegetable cleaver, not as daunting in size as a typical cleaver, but still a perfect knife for chopping veggies, fruits and meat.
