For 20 years, I treasured my Zwilling clipper. Unfortunately, I lost them and ordered a new clipper. The new clipper is awful - does not cut, pulls at the skin and rips nails. Poor quality and construction. Disappointed. Do not buy if you want to clip hangnails or nails.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Doesn’t cut the nail. Looks sharp, but doesn’t work. Not functional.

Nail Clipper Design — It No Longer Works the same
on July 24, 2025

’m not sure where to begin. I’ve owned a Zwilling 3-piece nail care set — including the nail clipper, scissors, and nail file, for nearly 25 years. The quality has been exceptional, and it served me well for decades. Unfortunately, this year, the nail clipper broke. The internal metal mechanism that allows the clipper to spring back and function smoothly gave out. I was truly disappointed.
After trying several other brands with poor results, I decided to purchase a new Zwilling set, hoping to regain the same quality and experience. However, I immediately noticed that the design of the nail clipper had changed. The new version requires you to push the lever back slightly before clipping. When I attempt to use it, the clipper doesn’t press all the way down, it stays partially open. Even when I press it multiple times, I hear a clicking sound, but it fails to cut my nails. After some trial and error, I realized the clipper must be positioned in a very specific way to work properly, which is frustrating and unreliable.
Zwilling, I genuinely wish you had kept the original design, it was simple, effective, and unmatched in quality. I’m very disappointed with the new version. I’ve attached images for comparison, along with a video demonstrating how the new clipper behaves when pressed.

Great nail clippers for everyday cuticle care use. The stainless steel construction of the clipper will hold up for a long time as a reliable grooming tool in your bathroom. It's nice that it also comes with a pouch for safe storage.
Horrible product that doesn’t work. I was replacing my old Zwilling clipper which I loved but very disappointed with this one.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are sorry to hear you are not completely satisfied. If you feel the clippers are defective, please consider filing a warranty claim for replacement consideration: https://www.zwilling.com/us/warranty.html
While I appreciate how well it cuts, ergonomically it is awful. Hard corners where you are trying to hold and cut. Not enough spring action on clippers to keep open between cuts. Really was looking for something excellent all the way around for the money paid for the clippers.
Trying to replace clippers I found in Germany. These were crap. The spring mechanism was replaced by the closing/clip mechanism that wasn't solid at all. Very grumpy at the decline in quality.
