Additionally, I do NOT like the fact that it needs to be charged with a USB cord. I've never seen a USB outlet in any bathroom anywhere I've lived or visited. Thankfully, I have a plug-in charger from a previous Sonicare toothbrush and I use that to charge the brush. I like the 2 speeds and it does clean my teeth well.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love it, BUT…

I purchased my Phillips 3100 toothbrush at the recommendation of my dental hygienist, and I love the toothbrush, BUT, I was extremely disappointed when it started to fail only 6 months after I purchased it. Twice, it turned on by itself (after turning it off, I walked by the bathroom later and heard it buzzing and jumping around). Once, it got very hot while on the charger. Then, I started having to charge it every 3
Days or so (instead of every two weeks). It stopped holing a charge. Finally, the Amber “time to change the brush” light went on and would not turn off even when I tried to reset it after putting a new brush on.
The good news is Phillips replaced it under warranty. Just received the replacement today and I’m hoping it lasts longer than the first one did! And today the first one won’t even turn on at this point.
I would recommend this to a friend!
