Cooking surface did not hold up

It was a good pan for about 6 months and then the cooking surface began to flake. No metal utensils were used on it. Very disappointed, I expected the pan to last many years. For the price I paid, I'm unhappy that I have to replace it already. Will not repurchase.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
