very disappointed with this machine. what I did in 30 minutes with a gas mower takes me 2 days! with this machine, and its still not 100% done. I bought an extra battery and it is still very disappointing how weak the motor is. It shuts down and kills battery at the slightest hiccup

Hello turfted,

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the run time of this battery when used in this lawn mower.
It is important to adjust your mowing techniques to make the most out of the battery life but it goes without saying that that the harder the unit works, the quicker the battery drains.

Here are a few mowing tips to help achieve the optimal run time.

1) When cutting thick grass, reduce walking speed to allow for a more effective cut and a proper discharge of the clippings.

2) Only mow 1/3 of the total grass length at a time - no more. For a healthy lawn, always cut off one-third or less of the total length of the grass. The average lawn should be approximately 1 1/2 to 2” (3.8 to 5 cm) long during cool months, and between 2" to 3 1/4" (5 cm to 8.3 cm) long during hot months.

3) Mow when the grass is dry. As this is an electric unit, mowing wet/damp grass is a safety issue. However, ensuring the grass is dry will also help the grass cut cleanly and discharge appropriately. Wet/damp grass carries more weight and will mostly stick to the blade/motor shaft and will not appropriately discharge or cut easily.

4) Make sure the battery is cool before use. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging.

We hope these tips will help! If not, we would be happy to investigate to see whether your run time would be considered average; please contact us directly through chatbot on www.greenworkstools.com that will direct you to a live agent or call us on Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934. All we ask that you have access to the unit so that we can complete troubleshooting with you and gather necessary unit information.

Hello Sue Hughes,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with use. Grass build-up or damage to the underside of the deck can cause the grass to catch and clog. The underside of the deck should be smooth so that the grass moves freely around the deck, up the chute, and into the bag. Our ride-on lawn mowers feature a washing port that can be accessed from on top of the deck. Please visit the manual and refer to the instructions for full details.

Should you have any further questions or warranty needs, please contact us directly through chatbot on www.greenworkstools.com that will direct you to a live agent or call us at Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934. We would like the opportunity to speak with you to see if we can find a solution.

Love the mower

Very quiet I've used it every week. It does an excellent job on the lower blade speed. Hills are not a problem. The only thing I would suggest is that it should have some sort of brake as I turned the key off when I was on a slope and the mower took off with no way to stop or steer.
Pros: Convenient, Easy to Use, Quiet, Durable, Environmentally Safe, Effective, Powerful

Not as sharp as original
on July 8, 2023

I LOVE my 80V mower, but accidentally hit a 5" rock while mowing this season. I bought this new blade and received it quickly. It was no problem to change the blade, but I noticed there were some stray blades still sticking up in places after I mowed. Not a lot, but enough to make a second pass. No idea why it wouldn't be as sharp. Even after hitting the rock my old blade did a better job. May try sharpening this one, but I'm disappointed.

Hello Lobster83,

Thank you for your feedback! Sorry to hear you are not satisfied with the cut of this new lawn mower blade. The cause of streaking could be the way the user mows, but it also may be the result of some generally causes that create this problem.

Overlapping each pass in the lawn you make with the lawnmower allows the mowing blades to contact each blade of grass and ensures no areas are missed. The overlap need not be very large. Overlapping by only 1 or 2 inches is enough. As you complete a pass and make your turn for the next one, line up the mower’s wheels with the indentation the wheels made during the previous pass.

Another suggestion to take into consideration, a clean mowing deck. Over the course of the mowing season, the underside of the mower’s deck collects dirt, mud, and grass clippings. Even if you mow your grass when it’s dry, the blades still attract some moisture, which tends to make grass clippings clump underneath the deck. This debris hampers both air and grass clipping movement inside the deck. Streaking could be one indication that the deck needs cleaning. With the battery removed or mower unplugged check the underside. Scrape off grass, mud and dirt clinging to the deck by using a wired brush be careful not to cut your hands on the mower blades.

Hoping these suggestion help. Easy To Use

I bought this unit back in February and have used it for about 25 cuts so far. The set up was easy and the mower runs great. The battery charges quickly. The issue is with how clean, or not clean, the unit cuts. Not sure if it is the design of the deck, the blade or just not enough oomph but it leaves way too many blades uncut even when cutting at a snails pace and with a significant overlap. I thought that the 80 Volt would be powerful enough to lift all the grass for a nice clean cut but it does not.

Hello # A Cut Below,

Thank you for sharing your feedback! When the lawn is being cut uneven, this can indicate a few different things. The first being that the lawn itself is rough or uneven. However, if this is not the case then it is possible that the grass is too tall, or the cutting height is set too low for the type of grass. Try raising the cutting height and reduce walking speed in order to allow for a more effective cut and a proper discharge of the clippings. If you have tried these suggestions, try having a look underneath of the mower deck and ensure that there has been no damage to the motor shaft, fan, blade, blade washer/insulator or the bolt. If any of these parts have been damaged or thrown off balance this will result in an even cut and likely, a noticeable vibration while in use.

I bought this a few years back. It is so easy to use. Put the battery in and go! No exhaust, no pull cord, adjustable cut lengths with a pull of a lever, maximum grass cutting width. It even stands up to take less room in my shed. Great product!
Pros: Easy to Use, Quiet, Durable

Great Mower

We used this mower for the first time today. It’s powered by two 80v 2.5Ah batteries. The lawn is large and finished with battery to spare. It switched flawlessly from the depleted battery to the second. The cut was excellent. We bagged clippings today and will likely mulch next time. Everything worked exactly as advertised.
Pros: Easy to Use, Quiet, Effective, Powerful
