Design Flaw

Don't buy this. There's a design flaw. It cracks due to the pressure of using the vacuum sealer. We've had three do this, after only using them a short time.
If you try this anyway, be warned that the top is really hard to get off, even after releasing the pressure. So even before ours broke, I would have said these were very poorly designed for ease of use.

Plastic containers no, other Fresh and Save yes.

All the other Fresh and Save lines work -- the plastic bags, the glass containers, the corks. These do not: none of these plastic containers work. The design is inherently flawed, and that's why you're seeing all these negative reviews. Zwilling reps will try hard to get you to use the containers under sterile lab conditions, saying the problem is you haven't got the gaskets and container and lids clean enough, but you could use them in a semiconductor fab clean room and the vacuum seal still wouldn't hold.
I ignored all the warnings scattered around here and got a great big set of these on sale, with a pump. The pump works fine. Nothing else does. Laughably, Zwilling now thinks I'm going to dump everything back out of the containers (which work as containers, they just don't stay vacuum-sealed) and find a mailing box for all this and schlep out to the post office and sent it all back. Because I have a life and things to do, I am not going to do this. I asked them for a 50% refund, because mine still work as containers -- they haven't cracked yet -- and then things went quiet on their end.
They're very expensive non-vacuum-sealing nice plastic boxes. That's all. If you want vacuum sealing try the other Fresh and Save lines.

This product has some of the same issues as the 2L where it doesn't hold the vacuum that long. I think there is too much surface for the amount of pressure difference so eventually the seal leaks.
I would recommend this to a friend!
