đŸ˜»Definitely an upgrade from the Index and Quest 2

Amazing upgrade from the Quest 2 and even the Index for me. Only thing lacking is the ability to read Twitch chat while playing/streaming native games, but hopefully that'll change soon as YouTube chat support (in beta) recently came out and works (more is needed to have options like LIV streamerkit though).

Good, could be better

Overall rating: main thing I would like to be improved is the FOV. it's good but could be better. This is the main thing I would love to see improved.
Comfort: it's getting better. The main thing I would like is something to take some of the pressure off of my face and devert it to my forehead or the top of my head. A counter weight on the back of my head would help as well.

Amazing VR Experience....Albeit Uncomfortable

The Meta Quest 3 has access to all of the same apps and games as the Quest 2, but the titles made specifically for (and those that have the "Quest 3 Advanced Graphics" setting) are absolutely a cut above.
The controller tracking is better than the Quest 2, but if you can afford the Pro controllers it is worth the investment. Sometimes the Quest 3 loses the positional data which results in missed throws, dropped equipment, or falling to your death if you are holding on for dear life. Some titles still have issues with hands and arms completely disappearing while climbing (more on the individual dev team than Meta).
The base head strap is a marked improvement over the base strap on the Quest 2, but this is the most easily definable place where the Quest 3 falls short. It is still pretty darn uncomfortable. The addition of the multiple positions for the face pad and the arms for the straps does help. The strap itself is still made of a rather irritating material. The strap now rubs against the top of the ear for a lot of users.
Meta has recently rolled out the ability to stream directly to Facebook without the need for a PC, and the ability to stream to YouTube (you'll need a PC with OBS or similar software) both of which let you see the chat. When I tested the Facebook option the device would only let me stream to my personal profile where my IRL friends and family are. I even made a Facebook Gaming Page and a new Facebook Group. I can stream directly to the group (not the gaming page), and it only allows me to interact/post the stream using my real name. This isn't great at all. In order for the Facebook streaming capability to be useful, you'll need to have a separate Facebook account just for your Quest (unless Meta fixes this issue). The chat for both Facebook and YouTube can be set to display at the top, bottom, left, or right of the screen and is anchored to that point. The chat itself cannot be altered in any way. It is one size only and opaque. It also sits on top of EVERYTHING. That means if you have in up top while you need to climb.....you can't see. If an enemy comes in from the position the chat is in...you can't see them. Allowing us to anchor it to the underside of our wrist like PCVR applications do would be a MASSIVE improvement. I would settle for having a see through background while also being able to anchor it to a place of MY choosing.
Battery life is the only other drawback that I've found. That said, it actually helps to take a break (at least for me) at the 1 1/2 - 2 hour mark which is when the battery typically dies for me (running a game at the highest framerate, casting the device to OBS, and using remote desktop beta to read the Twitch chat).
TLDR;: The Quest 3 is absolutely worth the money! I highly recommend grabbing one. If the price point is a bit high for your budget, the Quest 2 is still amazing in its own right! I do recommend buying a halo-style head strap with a backup battery. BOBOVR has a really great one! It takes awhile for them to be in stock/get delivered however. I picked up the Kiwi brand spare battery from Amazon which works great, but I did need to buy a separate USB-C to USB-C cable as the USB-A port did not provide enough power to keep the Quest 3 topped off. Using the Kiwi backup battery I am currently able to play for 3 hours straight without even touching the primary battery on the Quest 3!

Very Uncomfortable

Despite Quest 3 showed some improvements in the overall comfort with the top stripe, it's still far from ideal. After a couple of weeks putting an effort to use it, I realized that I was not going to be able to stay with it on for more than 15 minutes, which made me return it as my initial plans to use it as my extended work display wouldn't work out. Looking forward for the the Quest 3 improvements.

Love everything about it! Wish the controllers were rechargeable though, but doesn't keep me from loving it.

Great headset

This headset is the best that I own. That's probably because I went from quest 1 to quest 3, but that's not the point. Overall, it is a great headset and I haven't found anything to complain about it, aside from the stock head strap being uncomfortable for long play sessions. Battery life is also ok but it will sometimes die when plugged in while playing standalone and pcvr.

I had the DK2 way back when. So seeing the progression in tech is amazing. Used the Quest 2 enough to also see a big improvement. This is the best all round vr headset imo. Easy to sideload apps. Steamer is great and easy.
