Amazing clarity

The pancake lenses were a great choice, they're a gamechanger. I wish the stock head strap did more to reduce discomfort, the triangle head cup design at the back was a step in the right direction but is still uncomfortable to use for long periods of time. The battery life is also subpar and I wish there was a 30 second warning for when the headset is going to die so it's not such a shocking experience. Both of these flaws can be mitigated and it is an overall great headset.

Great but uncomfortable.

This was a gift for my wife. The headset is great, but the headstrap is so uncomfortable she can only use it for 20-30 minutes at a time. And the battery is used up in less than an hour.

Way easier than quest 2

They've removed most of the rough edges from the quest2. Especially happy with how they changed the PD settings since that was always confusing, and not having to deal with a glasses spacer is great. Resolution is now high to the point where I don't notice it.

Controller tracking is worse than quest 2

The screen is much better, the AR cameras are good, which are things that I would expect from a new device, but the tracking of the controllers is noticeably worse than the quest 2. If this is an effect of ditching the halo rings on the controller, that was a mistake. Moving the controllers with any sort of speed, which is the majority of software, it doesn't track well at all. Examples: ragnarock, a drumming game is unplayable at higher difficulties because the controllers don't keep up to speed so your timing is off, fitness game where certain targets require higher "force" (read speed) than others don't register the difference in motion speed as well as the old controllers. quick moves track as slow. Golf+ is also very evident that it doesn't track as well. Lots of clubs hitting the ground behind the ball and such. The controllers are also just too small to be comfortable as well. I don't regret my "upgrade" but I'm not telling everyone around me to go out and buy it either.

Quest 3 is 100% worth it. I use it daily in fitness, gaming, social, and spacial computing. The color pass-through blows my mind. My apps all look moor crisp. The controllers are light and intuitive.
The only complaint I have is that Meta is still sending out a headset with an uncomfortable strap. Cmon meta! We want new users to have the best intro to the world of VR, and being comfortable is so important! Just partner with BOBOVR and get people a decent strap right out of the box. As soon as I got my BOBOVR M3 Plus strap, the Quest 3 became the perfect device. Sorry, the elite strap stick doesn't cut it, because I don't like vice grips on my face.
