It is easy to set up and use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is very simple to connect to your Samsung TV but the sound quality of this model is just ok. It isn't horrible but it is the least expensive version . I would rate the sound quality from 1 to 10 at a 7.

We appreciate you taking a few moments to review the Samsung HW-Q800D Soundbar.

To improve your audio experience, the HW-Q800D features a wide range of sound modes and settings, allowing you to fine-tune the sound to your liking. Pressing the SOUND CONTROL button on your remote allows you to select the desired sound effect. You can select Spacefit sound, AVA, Voice Enhance mode, Night mode, Sync, Surround speaker mode, and Virtual. The desired item can be adjusted using the Up/Down buttons.

Alternatively, with the sound mode set to standard, press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons.

By pressing the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME PRO, or ADAPTIVE SOUND.

If you would like louder (or softer) bass from your subwoofer, you can adjust the level by rocking the WOOFER button on the soundbar remote, and then adjusting the level from -6 to +6. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button in.

You can adjust the Treble and Bass by pressing the TONE CONTROL button then use the UP/DOWN buttons to change the levels between -6 to +6.

With the optional SWA-9500S Wireless Rear Speaker Kit connected you can adjust the volume by using the provided Soundbar remote. Press CH LEVEL and select REAR LEVEL, then use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the volume within a -6 to +6 range.

Built in Alexa Doesn't Work

I like the sound bar for the audio quality, but don't plan on using the Built in Alexa because per Samsung themselves it doesn't work. No fix by Samsung in sight. False advertising and lying to the customers about this feature.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

To integrate Amazon Alexa with your Samsung HW-Q800D Soundbar, follow these steps:​

Connect your soundbar to Wi-Fi using the SmartThings app:

Open the SmartThings app on your phone.

Tap the + icon, select Device, then choose Samsung > Soundbar.

Follow the prompts to add your soundbar to your network.

Link your Samsung account to Alexa:

Open the Amazon Alexa app.

Go to More > Skills & Games, search for SmartThings, and enable the skill.

Sign in with your Samsung account when prompted.

Let Alexa discover your soundbar:

After linking, Alexa should automatically detect the soundbar.

If not, just say, “Alexa, discover devices.”

Use voice commands!

Once connected, you can say things like:

“Alexa, turn on the soundbar.”

“Alexa, set volume to 20 on the soundbar.”

Make sure your soundbar’s firmware is up to date and that your devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.

And when I play on my Playstation 4 , I can hear every background noise it can throw at me! It's unbelievable how precise the sound is!

Hi Chefran,

We appreciate you taking a few moments to review the Samsung HW-Q800D Soundbar.

When powered on for the first time, the subwoofer should automatically connect to the soundbar wirelessly. If the auto-connection process fails, you can try manually connecting the sub to the soundbar.

Before performing the manual connection procedure, check whether the power cables for the Soundbar and subwoofer are connected properly and make sure that the Soundbar is turned off.

Press and hold ID SET on the rear of the subwoofer for at least 5 seconds. The red indicator on the rear of the subwoofer turns off and the blue indicator blinks. Press and hold the Up button on the remote control for at least 5 seconds. The ID SET message appears on the display of the Soundbar for a moment, and then it disappears. The Soundbar will automatically power on when ID SET is complete. The LINK LED indicator stops blinking and glows a solid blue when a connection is established between the Soundbar and the Wireless Subwoofer.
