This steel is a great way to keep your knife edges straight and burrless between sharpenings. Has a nice weight so it feels secure during honing.

Stainless steel honing should be used regularly in between sharpening of your knife. Honing steel maintenance tool to align the blade’s edge and stays sharpened to it's angle, this increase cutting efficiency. It is also recommended purchasing the super-eraser to clean any metal residue buildup.

Perfect for keeping your knives in shape. I use the edge of the handle as a guide for angle alignment for honing. Handle is comfortable especially when pressure needs to be applied.

Stay sharp longer

This is the perfect tool to keep your knives sharp longer. All it takes is a little practice (watching the video from this website helps too) and you will quickly perfect edge maintenance. Some folks use it weekly, but I find "feel" is the best guide. If my knife won't cut through a tomato without squishing it, it's time to use the sharpening steel.

Excellent value for the money

I like this steel. It is 10-inches long. A good length for home use. It is made in Germany with premium steel that will last for years of use - even if you use it everyday. It is handsome. The stainless steel end cap is a nice touch. Adds a little weight for stability. And the handle is made for a wide variety of hands to grip. Well done! And the price is right, too.
