clip that opens three rings doesn't stay open when trying to fill binder with paper/dividers etc... my daughter said you have to hear the "click"..???

I've gone through many different types of binders as my 3 kids have gone through school. This is the only binder that can last all through the school year. But I need to remind the kids not to open the binder by pulling apart the rings (which can cause the rings to close unevenly over time). But if they open the rings using the "push to open" mechanism the rings seem to last O.K. The front plastic inserts will usually fall off with wear before the end of the school year (I kind of allow for that because of the constant in/out of the knapsack wear) but the body of the binder holds up great.
