I purchased a four inch binder last year which suited my needs for the one year. Since I needed one for this year I thought I was orderig the exact item. This is the Staples brand and the one I ordered last year was the Avery brand. I didn't realize that there was going to be a fold seam on the front cover of the Staples binder becasue the Avery binder did not have one. Right now the binder is working fine and seems to be okay. I'm just wondering what will happen when I put more and more papers in it throughout the year. Will it hold up to my expectations or will it fall apart. Only time will tell just how sturdy this one is.
We have tried "bargain" binders and find they do not hold up. We keep our records organized and accessible with these sturdy binders. We also like the color selections.
This product is exactly what I need for my scrapbooks and photo albums! The Staples brand is the same high quality as higher priced name brands. These binders come in all different sizes and are always in stock. They are reasonably priced and usually less expensive than name brands.
The pros: 1. The D clip is convenient for holding large stack of documents. 2. Single handle operation seem reliable and definately convenient 3. The extra bend and flip on the front cover provide a convenient glimpse on the entire document (especially when you have tabed dividers) without the need of openning the entire binder which would claim more space on the desk. Now the con: The pin-in-groove lock is certainly an improvement to prevent misalignment of the rings. However it is wobly and with enough paper in the heavy binder do not provide rigidity to the entire locking system. Even though the pin keeps the ring in lock position the slight dis-engagement of the pimg from its "crater" created a small barrier in the ring for the paper stack smooth rolling over the ring from close to open position. It requires splitting the entire 4" stack into the smaller 1/2" or 1" stacks to roll them over the ring.
The three ring binder that I bought I am going to use as my son's home school portfolio. I have bought this binder before except in 5 inch. And I never have had an issue with it falling apart or not staying closed. It is durable and fits any standard bookshelf. I love the idea of the clear pockets inside and out. They help with labeling the binder and makes it easy to determine what is in it. I would recommend this binder to any and all customers. The price is decent. Thanks for a great product!
