Because they are acid-free they are great for putting together a family photo album. And the 3-hole area is outside the 81/2"x 11" protected space so you get the maximum room for photos without punching holes in them.
I use these sheet protectors to keep important info and records safe Genealogy work and the fact that they are archival safe is a major factor.

I would not buy these again

I use page protectors a lot. I would not buy these again. There are other brands that are much better. These are wrinkled and the heavy weight ones also wrinkled and not very thick. They do the job but I don't like them at all.

Pattern protectors

I have a lot of crochet patterns to protect so I wanted quality along with quality. Only problem I ran into was it was hard to open them up. It took a learning curve to open them quickly. The sleeves seem to be strong. Even with my struggling to open them none of them tore on the sides. I was able to put several pages in at the same time. I can see these being used any time you want to display printed work. I have used several brands and styles over the years and I like the value and quality that is shown with this product.
