Daughter works back stage on theater productions and a black notebook is required. The Staples brand seems to work as well as any name brand. Love the view aspect on front and back as well as inside pockets.

Cost effective D-Ring binder

The Staples 1-1/2" Standard View Binder with D-Rings is easy to use and cost effective for righties or lefties. As a lefty I've always found it easier to work with loose-leaf paper (usually kept on a clip board) and then put my notes in a D-ring binder for future reference. I've been using this binder daily to protect about 175 pages of documents and the binder continues to work well even though I take out the pages I am studying each day and add them back. PROS: Pages slide easily while clipped in the binder. The D-Rings open easily. The D-Rings stay properly aligned when closed over and over. The pockets hold 10-20 pages with no problems. Pair this with the Avery® Multicolored Plastic Insertable Tab Dividers 5-Tab by Avery for best results. Cons: The cover could be a bit less flexible if this is a concern buy the heavier duty version that cover has less flex in it. (but holds less pages) Additional thoughts: I will be taking more classes soon and purchasing another Staples binder for those workbooks probably the thicker 2" ones.

Standard View Binders

Excellent product. Each notebook can be identified a full-page insert on the front cover and a strip on the notebook spine. I have used these notebooks for major projects for several years. the notebooks are far more useful for me than standard files. The variety of available colors is appreciated--when more than one notebook is needed I can color coordinate those for each project. Also notebooks can be recycled when a project is complete and the contents are not longer needed.

I have used these binders often. Keep me organized. One criticism the binder rings eventually separate from each other making it easy for the papers to come out. Sometimes the thumb press is difficult to push especially for people with arthritis.

Long Lasting 1-1/2" Standard View D Ring

I have purchased these notebooks several times over the last 10 years and I keep going back for more! They are workhorses in that the cover never splits on the seems the D rings make it easier to keep pages in place and move through different sections of the notebook. In addition the D Rings have a locking functions so you don't have to worry about your papers going all over the place if/when you drop it. And the last two points - The D rings always line up and won't catch your documents as you flip through the pages and last of all I love the clear view front back and spine. It makes it very easy to identify the notebooks for ease of finding on a shelf and you can also make them very attractive. Good bet for school office or home use!
