This binder is everything I expected - all the special features are exactly as advertised. I was surprised however with the spine label. It is an opening only about 4 inches long. I have been using full length spine labels and this design feature will force me to change. Not a biggie but a surprise.
The binders are normally fine. I buy lots of these for law school. The problem came when one of the many binders I purchased with a coupon after Christmas in MD was actually broken and I didn't notice until I went to use it. I went to the local Staples near my law school in Champaign IL and the woman at the register "returned" my original purchase and re-rung the binder. She returned at the price I paid which was 15 or 20% off at MD sales tax of 6% and re-rung it at the full cost and at IL sales tax of 9%. Why didn't she just exchange it? I was simply getting a replacement for a broken Staples item. Although the difference was only $1.39 it still wasn't right. It was the same item and I shouldn't have been charged 37% more than what I originally paid. I buy a lot from Staples since I get all my ink paper and any supplies from you.
This is an excellent binder. They hold up well. I use them at home and at work. My daughter uses them for school as well. We have had the same binders at work for 3 years so far they are used daily and not torn or messed up yet. Like other binders would be by now. The school binders front slip cover does tear over time but this is to be expected. I would recommend these binders for any use to everyone. I am waiting to see how long the work binders will last before we have to replace them. I love that we can turn in a binder for credit or exchange these binders.
My 7th grader loves the binder has held up great all year. I like the rubber edge that helps with the sturdiness but my son says it makes it harder to "shove" in his backpack.
These Better binders by Staples are the best invention ever! I am a college student who is double majoring which equals a lot of classes and a lot of information. These binders are only slightly more expensive then the other cardboard ones and last at least 5x longer. Some of the better binders I still have now in my sophomore year of college I originally bought my freshman and sophomore years of high school. They really don't get any better than these! And even when they start to wear out you can now recycle them back to Staples and receive money off of new ones.
