So far so good with this binder as my son's seventh grade year begins. Before this one I had difficulty finding a binder that was sturdy enough to hold up to at least a marking period of constant use and moving in and out of locker and backpack. The usual binders rip on the corners and start to fall apart. This one is rugged and looks good too! It was a bit more expensive than some other binders but it was worth the price.
I like this binder because it combines ease of opening the rings sturdiness plastic (easy to clean if I spill my Latte!) I can label the spine and the front. Can't remember whether this one has the rings where one fits into the other just a bit where they close to prevent overlap but if it does not then that is the only downside. I also like different colored binders so if Staples can do this they have a grand slam!
Even my 16-year -old son could not destroy this binder when he used it for school. I now use it for work because it holds up to the most demanding use. The rubber edges keep the cover from wearing out and the rings are the best I have ever used. They open and close easily and exactly every time.
Thought this would be very sturdy based on overall design materials and cost - as compared to other big binders - it has not lived up to my initial expectations. That being said it is better than most...so I continue to buy them.
My daughter used to go through 6-7 binders a year - the covers would just fall off at the spine. The rubber spine on this binder allows her to use and us to purchase just one for the entire year. Yes they are more expensive but they LAST.
